#22 grinder knife

mrobisr Didn’t mean to offend you, I know the knife will fit either way. The picture of the Everlast looked like it was partially hollowed out and I thought that might have been the problem is all.
bocephus I’m sorry if I came off as rude that wasn’t my intention at all, my apologies.

It looks from the pic like the knife looks like it should, the blades of the knife are aligned with the corners of the center holes on these knives, not on the flat sides. I am assuming he has a knife that has a problem and we will get a new one sent to him. Hopefully, this fixes it. mrobisr if you see this before you see my email I do have one more thought, it is unlikely but you never know, do you happen to have a micrometer? If so, can you measure the width of the hole and the width of the square part of the stud?
Jonathon unfortunately I’ve been on the road since Monday, visiting in-laws, so I can’t measure the knife. I did mail to you, so if it arrives Monday as usps says you can let us know what is wrong with it.

To let everyone know that Jonathon has reached out to me to fix the issue, so hopefully this problem will be solved vey soon.

mrobisr I would appreciate reading any feedback you receive after Jon reviews the everlasting knife you sent him. The one I received last week does not fit either. So any feedback will let me know if I need to only return the knife or both the knife and speco plate.

Jonathon Jon, I just received my #22 blade yesterday and it also does fit the Walton’s grinder. The auger shaft measures .51 and the hole of the blade is also .51. The standard blade which comes with the unit has a .53 opening. I sent a message to customer service last night regarding this.
@m-saboeo it doesn’t fit? I am confused, I thought it did? So, you ordered a #22 everlasting knife https://www.waltonsinc.com/22-everlasting-knife and it is not fitting your #22 grinder? After rereading your message it makes more sense now that it did not fit. I was sort of wondering why you sent customer service a message if the knife fit. I guess I thought you were being extremely helpful or something? When did you buy your Walton’s #22 Grinder?
FYI I am in contact with mrobisr outside of this thread and we are sending him a new knife.
FYI I am leaving this thread open so I should see responses fairly quickly during the day.

OKay, I just lost this message cause I hit some combination that apparently closes tabs…the hate is strong with me today!
I went back and measured the one I have and it is .521, I measured multiple ones of what we have in stock and aside from a few of the ones we still had from a previous order (which are .52) they are now .51 MEANING, they will NOT fit on the Walton’s #22 Grinder. Since we have no control over Speco we will not be able to have them fit with the Waltons #22 Grinder any longer. I am taking off any reference to the speco knives working with the #22 and obviously we will refund anyone who purchased a speco knife for the #22 grinder. The good news is we do have #22 Value Hard Grinder knives now that are similarly built to the speco knives, they are not just the propellor style.
So, @M-Saboe and mrobisr We will refund the cost of those knives to you and send you a #22 Value Hard Grinder knives
@M-Saboe Can you email me at jonathon@waltonsinc.com with your order # or the email address you used to place the order?

Again great customer service. Thanks Jonathan

Jonathon Wow, with that close of tolerance I have to believe Walton’s #22 isn’t the only grinder it won’t fit

glen I did try it on the Pro-Cut #22 we have in the test kitchen and it does work on that still. It’s slightly tighter but still fits on. Our purchasing department is in discussion with them now, they are claiming no changes so I took our calipers and took pics of the old ones and the new ones showing them that something did, in fact change. However, we are not who they manufacturer those for, and the Walton’s #22 Grinder isn’t the one that we sell the most of those knives for, so i don’t imagine we are going to be able to have them switch it back.
In all honesty, I have been told by people here (who are more experienced than I) that the Grinder Value Hard Knife will work just as well as the everlasting. I am stubborn though so I have removed all the Everlasting #22 knives from my arsenal since people won’t be able to use them in the future and replaced them with the Value Hard Knife. Once I grind a ton of product through it I can comment on whether I think it cuts just as well. There may be a reason coming out in 2022 that this wont be as big of a deal anyway…and that ladies and gentlemen is called a tease!

Jonathon so are you recommending that I hold off on buying a couple of extra knives for now?
-
mrobisr Yes please, I sent you a new one already but let’s see a few things before you buy more. We are talking to the vendor and what they are saying and what we are seeing is not matching up.

This thread read like a my story novel. The suspense was intense…… “Will it fit!!! (Insert dramatic music)”
