#22 grinder knife
-
I bought a Walton’s #22 grinder on the Monday sale and also the everlasting knife, but upon opening noticed it doesn’t fit the auger, is this normal? Is the Walton’s stainless steel knife the only knife that fits the Walton’s grinder?

mrobisr Most of them are interchangeable, especially if you are using them for specified machines & making sure that they correspond with the hubbed plates & the hub-less. I would double back to Jonathon or Austin to make sure on that. I have never tried that particular brand of knife.

calldoctoday thank you for the reply, I emailed Walton’s this afternoon and the rep said her supervisor would take it to the service department, but while waiting I figured I would reach out to you guys.

mrobisr You are very welcome, I wish I could do more. Maybe someone else will be able to help more than I could.

@m-saboe yes and no, they said it should work, but I said it doesn’t. They wanted pictures, so I sent pictures and have not heard a word since Friday, so needless to say I’m not a fan of waltonsinc.com customer service at this point.

mrobisr Are you sure you are putting it on right, both the waltons and everlast state they are 1/2" center hole diameter.

Can you post the pictures here? Maybe we can help.

bocephus bocephus a grinder blade can go on backwards or forward it really doesn’t matter until you grind the meat and considering this is my 4th grinder in the house and I have ground meat for living at the rate of 10,000lbs per shift i hope i have grinders figured out by now. The one that came with the grinder fits perfectly, so I have to assume it was poorly casted.

This is the one that came with the grinder and as you can see it fits perfectly.
-
Ya, pretty obvious it doesn’t fit. To bad they are not taking care of it quicker.
-
mrobisr It looks from what I can tell of the photo that the problem is with the Everlast blade. It looks like the hub was cast backwards or something. Definitely does not fit, very likely defective. What are they saying? I hope you can get it worked out soon. I have never seen that happen before, but it sure does look like that from what I can tell.
-
Definitely does not match the #22 Everlast photo on the Walton’s site (may not be important). Makes me wonder if it missed the final cleanup process to smooth out the center hole

Just FYI I reached out to Mark to get some more info. I just tested 2 different #22s and a #32 and the Everlasting knives do fit. I am hoping that Mark got a knife that has a slight issue with the size of the center hole. Once we get him the good knife and if it works he can choose to update this. If it is the auger we will have to figure something else out.

mrobisr Didn’t mean to offend you, I know the knife will fit either way. The picture of the Everlast looked like it was partially hollowed out and I thought that might have been the problem is all.

It looks from the pic like the knife looks like it should, the blades of the knife are aligned with the corners of the center holes on these knives, not on the flat sides. I am assuming he has a knife that has a problem and we will get a new one sent to him. Hopefully, this fixes it. mrobisr if you see this before you see my email I do have one more thought, it is unlikely but you never know, do you happen to have a micrometer? If so, can you measure the width of the hole and the width of the square part of the stud?

Jonathon Jon, I just received my #22 blade yesterday and it also does fit the Walton’s grinder. The auger shaft measures .51 and the hole of the blade is also .51. The standard blade which comes with the unit has a .53 opening. I sent a message to customer service last night regarding this.

@M-Saboe Thank you for doing that, I just went and measured the 2 #22 I have access to and they are all .514 inches. The only possible things I see now are bad knife, bad auger stud or they changed something on us. I am hoping it is not that last one.
