PK100 (finally!)

glen not sure where you live but I have recently found this one and also 2 of the Cabelas pro 100 smokers on fb marketplace. I lucked into this one because I have been looking for a long time and all of a sudden I found 3 on marketplace and there was 1 on ebay that I missed out on. The one Cabelas one I found looks nice, price seems to be a bit high in my opinion esp since it it the painted one and not all stainless.
@randie-nulph Thanks, I am in Wichita, and yes, I wish I had one but space wise and wife wise I’d better stick with my Masterbuilt. (at least for a while LOL)

I finally got one. Have been wanting to try one for years. I found it on fb marketplace. It was bought 1 year ago and only used once. After a 5 hour drive in the snow to pick it up I am a happy camper.
So glad I found it right now because I just checked the website and it just went up another $200 from the $500 increase they went up earlier this year.
Just an FYI for those getting one. I wiped it down ( the pics are before I wiped it down) and tried to fire it up and test it and dry the inside. Every time i turned it on (625watt setting) it would trip my outlet. Tied 3 different outlets on the porch and it happened every time. Finally called Pro Smoker and they said for some reason on gfi outlets and being dual power settings it causes the outlet to trip. Said to use an adapter from 3 prong to 2 prong and it fired right up and is running. Looking forward to learning how to use it compared to the other smokers I have.Ps the customer service from Pro Smoker has been great so far from getting a copy of the instruction manual and also the power issue.

I bought a new PK100 and had exact same issue and the cheap 3 to 2 prong adapter solved it. The one you got looks brand new! What did you pay if you don’t mind?
Also go to Home Depot and get some 1/2" hardwood dowels. Cut 6 to length to fit across the unit and you’ll be set for hanging sausages.
Oh and never use the 625W setting. Do you have the sawdust bowl?

Jamieson22 it pretty much is brand new. Supposedly it was used once the sawdust pan I pitted up some since it had been used once and then sat unused. Outside has some marks on it because it sat In a garage for a year. Will have to try to clean that up at some point and will be making some dowels soon. I got it for $1500 including a 40lb bag of sawdust. Not a bad price since a new one is now $1000 more

Jamieson22 -why do recommend to not use the 625W setting? curious
@m-saboe it significantly increases the time it takes for the meat to get to temp. I would use it for the first hour of dry time on snack sticks and sausage then switch to the 1250 watt setting to get the smoke rollin.
