    Hello All,

I’m looking for a breakfast sausage seasoning with a similar flavor profile to Jimmy Dean’s regular. Any thoughts or ideas which seasoning would be close?

    Thanks

LOP #10 seasoning is good for breakfast sausage. Pretty sure Jimmy Dean’s “secret” ingredient is MSG.

I can tell you with 100% certainty that JD regular sausage does not have any sage in it.

MAD KK I have had great results with the Holly regular with just about 10% Holly 110-C

It is about the only pre blend that I regularly use as is.

As far as Jimmy Dean, YES MSG is a big part of their package, and keend0 How do you know with 100% certainty that there is no sage? The only way thus far that I have developed a recipe similar to Jimmy Dean is with a touch of ground sage. interested if it does not.

Chef I worked for Sara Lee in their Jimmy Dean Foods division and was responsible for buying all of their seasonings and ingredients. There is no sage in the regular seasoning.

keend0 that is so interesting. Any particular spice you can suggest that might have a similar flavor?

There is nothing unusual/unique in the blend.

I personally don’t care for the vinegar smell and taste when frying and eating it.
