This recipe is called the first things I could find in the kitchen in a hurry this morning because I was running late. Leftover cornish game hen and cheddar and broccoli noodle side seasoned with Excalibur Southwest Mesquite Rub and Terrapin Ridge Farms Creamy Italian White Balsamic Dressing.

Tried to come up with something different from deer camp cooking the last few days and partially making freezer space for deer. I cooked up some fettuccine topped it with a can of my homemade Marinara. Shredded a little fresh Mozzarella. I steamed a few shrimp and lightly sprinkled them with Excalibur Firecracker rub from Walton’s to top it all off. I thought about a vegetable as a side, but figured the home canned sauce counted for that and opted for some fried clams. Not to mention they had been in the freezer way to long and the space was needed. It all turned out pretty darn good.

GWG8541 Don’t think that the deer camp table had both Beam and Forester sitting on the table all the time.

My version of the McRib. I cooked a couple test patties just to check flavor, but this is my first full blown McRib sandwich.

zbigjeff there are a few empty bottles, but ussually beer. I probably drink more beer during deer season than any other time. Too much whiskey makes getting up at zero dark thirty rough sometimes. The only exception to that is one night on or near 10 November every year. Thats is bow season here in Ohio, and ussually during the rut. Three of the four friends I hunt with celebrate our Marine Corps Birthday. Steak and whiskey is always on the menu that night. Guns are really loud if your hung over, so it’s only whiskey during bow season.

Sous vide pork loin to 140° for 3 hours, poured some Raspberry Chipotle sauce over it, sauteed cabbage and green beans.

Had to think up something for dinner tonight. Chicken breasts stuffed with pepperoni and Mozella cheese with spaghetti sauce and mushrooms. While I was making it I heard my male dog hit my glass dog trying to get it open, thought it was a rabbit, didn’t pay much attention until I saw him still watching the door. Looked out and saw a rooster pheasant standing in the yard. Thought to myself, this guy could have joined us for dinner, but he decided otherwise and headed towards my creek while I was grabbing the camera. Of course the dogs found him and flushed him before I got a picture. Had there been less neighbors close, he might have been on the plate instead of chicken. IMG_0264.JPG IMG_0266.JPG IMG_0265.JPG
