I know someone will ask. I bought them from Amazon (and actually bought the 6 pack instead of the 3 (I can use the extra at the office)

Have you ever been frustrated with the amount of mince left over in the elbow of your stuffer? Well I have.

A week or so ago I posed the question on the board and got some inspiring response. As a result, and based on my background as a physical therapist, I took the suggestion of a “sacrificial bolus” and found a reusable alternative. I did some quick research and ordered some thermoplastic rubber stress ball and low and behold my problem was solved. The b@lls are BPA/phthalate/latex free, are soft enough to conform, but also resilient enough to be squeezed by the stuffer without breaking apart.

I wonder if Austin and Jonathon would consider carrying some and calling them "Dr_Pain’s stuffer b@lls " ROFL!!

Anyway, I made some snack stick this past Sunday and they worked like a charm. I bottomed out the piston, retracted it, pushed the first ball in the mince, bottomed out the piston again and added 2 more (same process). I should add that I did clean them with soap and hot water and sanitized it with a diluted iodoform solution (before and after).

      Enjoy the pictures!

Dr_Pain Thanks for the experiment, one of the reasons this sight is so nice, everyone has great information and I learn things I wouldn’t even thought about.

Mike, that is actually a 7lbs stuffer but I think the 11lbs has the same elbow size. I’m sending you a pic of the diameter measurement. Should be easy to see if that size would work for your application

I was actually disappointed that there was no guttural sound or farting type noise as they were being compressed but since the horn was still attached there was a “failure to launch”

I find it interesting that the concern is left over meat in the throat meanwhile I still have 2 lbs left in the bottom of my stuffer. I use extra washers to put my plunger further down as a hack to reduce it to 1 1/2 lbs. Now what do I gotta do for a hack to get the rest out……thinking a new stuffer is in order.

twilliams That is what it sounds to me too, that is a lot of meat left in the bottom, I would think the plunger should bottom out.
