YooperDog I see what you did by just mentioning the temp. We had our first overnight temp in the 40’s. Fall is a coming.

zbigjeff no stopping that train. I think we have seen the last of the 80° temps. Cold smoking temps on the horizon.

zbigjeff It’s currently 42 degrees here at 6:30 AM, this is the fifth morning in a row of temps in the low 40’s here. Fall is definitely here, we’ll see how it is up at our place in the foothills today when we get up there for the weekend. It’s a bit higher in elevation, almost 2000 ft. and will have to watch for bow hunters trespassing since it open this weekend and most of the State lands are closed due to fire danger.

lkrfletcher I like a little dab of sour cream on mine with maybe some of the cheese too, but that looks real good with lots of protein.

lkrfletcher the egg on top of chili is a first for these eyes, but I’m definitely going to try it. It reminds of bimbimbap.

kyle Is that a Wisconsin thing? I’m from Wisconsin originally and I’ve not heard of that combination, it does sound interesting. However I’ve had many a Polish Martini (beer with a green olive & splash of olive juice in it). I remember a cream cheese spread with either black or green olives that was good. Nothing tops a good Wisconsin relish tray!!
I’ll be back that way for the first 10 days of October. Going to St. Germain & Eagle River. Can’t wait!!

cdavis They usually don’t have much to say when they see me carrying my sidearm asking why they are on private property and I explain to them they can’t hunt the timber company property either, since they don’t want them on their land either right now. They want me to have them trespassed, it’s easier just to ask them to leave and explain to them what happens if we have to have a game warden come in. They loose their ability to hunt for a year, that changes minds fast.

zbigjeff Looks like we’ll be lucky this weekend, way to many people in town for their town wide “garage sale”. All the bow hunters have decided to stay away from the area. I haven’t seen any head up the mountain by way of the forest service road which is a good sign and nobody parked in front of the timber company gates next to our property. It’s really kind of warm this weekend and the deer will be at the higher elevations right now.

Bob Stehlik Well you should see some color change, already happening up here. Just down that way last week, lots of tourists, but by then it should have thinned down. Things seemed to be all open, just limited days and hours.

YooperDog Thanx for the update. Really getting antsy to get Up North. I need a Walleye or Perch Friday Nite fish fry bad! Have a good Labor Day weekend. Stay safe & eat well!
