cdavis we topped a long morning of fishing off with the hottest afternoon of golf I have ever played. It was a blazing 103F. Beautiful public course though, Chickasaw Point I believe.

bocephus it is funny you mentioned the two…back in my high school days, we used to have an annual get together over opening dove season. We called it Dove Golf. Opening morning we would break into groups of two and hunt dove, however many birds each team shot in the morning they would then get to take that number of strokes off of their afternoon golf game in a scramble tournament. We had trophies and all. It was a lot of fun. Need to resurrect that tradition!

ND Mike last year I ran a few/several strips of LEDs in mine and built a DC power supply and rewired my flasher as another DC power supply. Plenty of lighting, from low light to see me from space. I can charge, run the fan on my Big buddy heater, cook and run the flasher Looking at replacing my sled with a SnoDog this year and maybe get an electric auger the following year. Sure beats sitting on a five gallon bucket with my back to the wind. I have an insulated flip up that I have yet to get cold, came close when the propane ran out.

cdavis those are some pigs! God I love large mouth bass fishing! I also found out I might have access to a pretty freaking awesome deer hunt this season. Have to do some things to get it lined up but if I do we should get some cool content out of it.

Jonathon I have hunted western Kansas for pheasant and have seen some monster whitetail and mule deer. You live in a very diverse state for hunting.

bocephus you can even take elk and antelope with rifle if you are lucky enough to draw. I know there is a general archery season for antelope here too. I believe the same goes for elk.

YooperDog that is for sure. I made a smitty sled for my stuff and that makes a huge difference when walking out. Google smitty sled if you don’t know what it is. I can’t believe I waited until last year to make one!

RafterW archery opened here last week. I have not picked up bow hunting yet. The time required is a bit short for me at least in the next 5 years. Our muzzleloader season doesn’t start until December and it is the hardest deer tag to draw! I haven’t shot a deer with a muzzleloader in about 10 years.

ND Mike we have a short regular season for muzzle loader and a whitetail tag that lets you hunt in any season throughout the year with any legal method of harvest. It’s pretty nice to just buy one tag and be able to utilize any weapon in the season, as it runs its course. I believe our muzzle loader closes at the end of this weekend. It is a short season, opened Monday with archery.

In December, rifle season will open here as well.

RafterW our regular rifle season starts the first weekend in November. Our season runs right through the rut. Lots of big boys go down especially with the loss of CRP acres. Our regular season tag you can use any legal firearm to harvest a deer. Our tags do not carry over to other seasons though.
