Well what do you know? Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks recognizes Snipe hunting season. I thought they were hunted with a flashlight and a gunny sack? https://ksoutdoors.com/Hunting/Migratory-Birds/Snipe

Have you seen the “pardon my plate” episode on coot? It’s hilariously informative.

ND Mike snow gets to dang deep, but hauling a sled has gotten old, to much of a hassle. It always seems coming off the ice is always up hill, lol

YooperDog that is for sure. I made a smitty sled for my stuff and that makes a huge difference when walking out. Google smitty sled if you don’t know what it is. I can’t believe I waited until last year to make one!

Anyone going out hunting this weekend? KS whitetail is officially open as of this week for archery and muzzleloader. I’m going to check cameras today. Hoping to have some bucks moving during daylight hours.

RafterW archery opened here last week. I have not picked up bow hunting yet. The time required is a bit short for me at least in the next 5 years. Our muzzleloader season doesn’t start until December and it is the hardest deer tag to draw! I haven’t shot a deer with a muzzleloader in about 10 years.

ND Mike we have a short regular season for muzzle loader and a whitetail tag that lets you hunt in any season throughout the year with any legal method of harvest. It’s pretty nice to just buy one tag and be able to utilize any weapon in the season, as it runs its course. I believe our muzzle loader closes at the end of this weekend. It is a short season, opened Monday with archery.

In December, rifle season will open here as well.

RafterW our regular rifle season starts the first weekend in November. Our season runs right through the rut. Lots of big boys go down especially with the loss of CRP acres. Our regular season tag you can use any legal firearm to harvest a deer. Our tags do not carry over to other seasons though.

Over the last few years, Nebraska has introduced a lot of new special seasons for deer hunters. There is a season choice antlerless deer, (doe) permit, which allows hunting with bow, firearm, or muzzleloader while those season dates allow hunting. That permit is $37 for a resident and offer a lot of hunting opportunities at a reasonable cost.
This is in addition to all the firearm, muzzleloader, and bow permits that allow shooting a deer of either [censored].
Hunters hunting on their own property have the most options for permits and they are available at the least cost, but again, you are limited to hunting just on your own property.
Nebraska allows purchasing multiple permits in any combination although you are limited to only two permits that allow harvesting a buck.

processhead only one buck in Kansas. We have the season choice as well but it can be used on either s3x, the only catch is that it is whitetail only, there are mule deer in the western 1/3rd of the state.

Nebraska also has mule deer in the western half of the state. Their numbers are more limited and available buck tags reflect that.
