processhead been thinking of trying port for a while. When I saw your post it inspired me. Just picked this up on the recommendation of the quite knowledgeable sommelier at my local liquor store. Taste pretty darn good to me. ๐Ÿท

Surg Gentleman Jack makes a fine drink. Iโ€™ve had some JD single barrel select that was really tasty also. Jack is still one of my favorite whiskeys, even Old number 9

Surg this is one of the Gentleman Jack bottles that Iโ€™m not opening and leaving in my JD collection. I picked it up at the distillery on the 150th anniversary.

I also picked up this bottle at the distillery in 2016. I bought it for retirement, to be opened on my last day at the PD. Im saving whats left for special occasion shots. Its smooth for a 132.5 proof single barrel, but it burns a bit going down.

GWG8541 thatโ€™s a sweet bottle donโ€™t blame you for wanting to open it. May have to try to get my hands on a bottle of that barrel proof. Love a good high octane drink every now and then.

GWG8541 Thatโ€™s pretty wild that itโ€™s that hot and is smooth, that usually doesnโ€™t go hand in hand.

Surg Will be looking for that as a try. Like bourbons, ports are regional depending on the state. Iโ€™ve stayed with mostly the Wareโ€™s line due to consistency. But, have tried others. Thanks for the nod.

I checked with my local liquor store after we got home. He had few varieties and is going to look and see if he can get the Grahams 10 yo Tawny that I fell in love with.

GWG8541 Yeah, I am not a huge fan of JD black label, after visiting their distillery and taking a whiff of the charcoal while the hooch filtered through it really messed me up. Which is perfectly fine, so many better whiskeys out there these days.

HerbcoFood whiskey, like sausage, is a matter of personal taste. There are not to many bourbons, Tennessee, or Irish whiskeys I do not like. Iโ€™m just not a fan of high rye whiskeys. The filtering process never bothered me, but the sour mash being cooked was a little overwhelming to me.

Says itโ€™s partially finished in wine and sherry casks. Iโ€™m no connoisseur but can definitely pick up some wine notes. Slight bite on the back end. Nice pour. ๐Ÿฅƒ

Good Lord, just realized I critiqued a bourbon. ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜ฏ

PapaSop that is some great stuff. Donโ€™t think the bottle I got had the gray label but sounds like the same finishing barrels. And the price is reasonable. Enjoy!

PapaSop Just introduced that Beam and Japanese project to a small group 2 weekends ago along with 5 other brands. Well, thinking they liked it as the bottle is gone. Enjoy yours.

Didnโ€™t realize it was a combined effort until after the fact. Very good.

Yep, grabbed this for $39. Probably a bit less up the road but I was good with it.
