Jonathon s request, please list your drink of choice. I’ll start, I love bourbon and Coors Light or a good old Coors yellow belly. My bourbons of choice are Elijah Craig, Bulliet, Maker’s Mark, Jim Beam Black and W.L. Wellers. Now if I just want to pound down some drinks a good 7&7 can’t be beat.

Tex_77 after a 5am - 5pm shift and a long walk to the car (downtown Walla Walla was shut down due to a bike race today) the only thing that mattered was making a really big Singapore Sling.

Joe Hell what’s a Singapore Sling?

Tex_77 Heaven! Just quadruple the ingredients (I had no orange) like I did and that’s all you need to start/end the evening! It’s a lot of things but absolutely delicious.

Joe Hell No Orange? Hypocrisy!!! I know, just add more Grand Marnier or Cointreau and viola. It’s a drink that easy to sit down to and just enjoy. Yay for you.

zbigjeff …I also forgot the bitters initially. Lol. So…on my next one (tomorrow for sure) I’m going to combine the soda, bitters, and orange and just add this! I’ve been buying these recently and they are great for both mock and cocktails so long as you like bitters.

Joe Hell I love playing with the pure bottles of bitters. Daughter bought me a sampler pack of I think 6-8 of them. Bitters can make or break a drink and a little goes a long way. I never saw the can you have of Bitters and Soda. I can now go to sleep knowing I learned one new thing today. Albeit extremely important point and don’t forget the bitters again.

zbigjeff homemade bitters is a fun hobby that I’ve dabbled in a bit…even considered that as a business. All you need is booze and stuff!
Joe Hell Dabbling in my world is very much a positive. One of my dabbles awhile ago was trying to grind and stuff with the same machine. Finally (after only one try), I came to my senses and purchased a stuffer. Another dabble about 3 decades ago was finding a different bourbon that nobody else in the family had tried for each holiday. Now, I have an arsenal for different types of tastings. So, you keep “dabbling” with the bitters and I will purchase them to see how good you are.

Joe Hell My cousin who I am incredibly close to worked for GE financial when I was younger and they had him travelling all over the world and this was his favorite drink from over seas. He made me some when I was younger and I could easily see why he liked them!

So as I’ve said, I’m still recovering from a bad experience with whiskey when I was 14. Today I picked up a couple of small bottles to expand on my Maker’s Mark endeavor. I grabbed a Bulleit Bourbon and a Elijah Craig Small Batch. I’m not sure if I’m headed in the right direction or not but I’m trying new drinks. Today, while smoking some bacon, I made a Manhattan using my Maker’s Mark. Actually I made several…
