@ndmike Thanks for serving. Quite a diverse background. Great topic to introduce, thanks.

I’m an executive chef now. Closed down the restaurants and only do special events like open houses, weddings, customer appreciation, even private dinners.

Prior to that I was a chemist, chemical engineer and clinical psychologist. Had a lot of fun getting to where I am now.

gus4416 any particular bridges we would know of?

Worked in field maintenance and management of telecommunications, instrumentation, and process controls systems for public and private drinking water and natural gas transmission utility industries. Retired now and enjoying all the fun stuff I didn’t have enough time for back then.

I joined the U.S Navy right out of high school in 1987, worked as an Aviation Boatswains Mate Handler ABH for short. I worked on the flight deck of U.S.S. ENTERPRISE (CVN-65) aircraft carrier for 6 years, got out of the service and went into heavy construction building bridges until 2001 when I was diagnosed with epilepsy. I have undergone 24 surgeries in 18 years time and I’m now 100% disabled, not because of the surgeries but the epilepsy. I now work when I can doing odd jobs to make extra money. I GO CRAZY IF I’M NOT PRODUCTIVE!!

I’m always curious what everyone does for a profession in these groups. It is always cool to see how diverse we are. I am a State Trooper and have been since 2007. Prior to that I worked many years in home construction and taught second grade right out of college.

@ndmike Retired teacher. I had more time to dive into my sausage-making hobby, and jumped into charcuterie as a fun way to eat well. I sub at a local Tech-Voc, often in baking and culinary courses. Learn some, teach some, have fun. In between those, I tinker with my boat and gadgets. Cheers, all, from Winnipeg.

Retired from the US Navy in 1997. Moved back to my hometown and owned a propane business. Served as Fire Chief until December 31st when I retired. Still maintain my EMT license but trying to cut down on number of calls. Great to see so much diversity on here. Glad I found Walton’s recently. Enjoy everyone’s comments/advice/recipes.
