So I started with a Vacmaster 112s a few years ago. When I went to the 112s it was mind blowing compared to a foodsaver. I ran about 1250 bags through it when it broke the first time. That was right when Trump put the tariffs on China. It took 9 months for Ary to get me a used solenoid because, in the mean time they stopped producing that model. I got it back working order to have the same failure symptoms about 6months later. I got another used part in the mail from Ary but the problem never came back. I ordered a VP230 this past summer, I had to order/pay for it before it was even manufactured because they were constantly back ordered. As soon as I received the new sealer I sold my old one for money than I paid for it due to large price increases prior to stopping production. 🙂 My 112s would make the body of the sealer so hot you didnt wanna touch it after 25 bags with no rest. Ary assured me several times this was normal and would not affect the longevity of the machine.

My opinion is: a double seal bar or double heating elements is a must. And an oil pump is 1/2 as loud, and 3x as fast as a dry pump.

Single seal bar but 2 elements in it about 1/4inch between them. I double sealed almost all my bags prior to this machine. Its the most likely place of failure and if your seal is no good you might as well not even bother with a vacuum seal process. If I remember right the 220 and 230 was the difference between a dry pump and a oil pump. I skipped over the VP210/215 for a longer seal bar and wider chamber. My thought process was what goods a 15inch wide chamber with only a 10inch sealbar.

deanlorensen Thanks, have you ever used textured bags… I have about 1000 of them left over from my Weston 2300

Yep, they work fine. I wanna try double-sided textured bags in my machine outside of the chamber. I’ve seen videos of other machines doing it. Apparently the double textures allows enough air channels for it to draw vacuum inside the bag. Then you could do an infinite sized bag.

I buy my bags by the case of a 1000 and I buy 3 sizes. Like a quart, gallon and then about 2.5gallon size, that seems to work well for my family.

deanlorensen I’m a little confused, i thought all the textured bags had 1 side textured inside and outside of the bag. I buy the precut, an rolls… there’re all like that I use them with a vac sealer weston 2300. There is no seal button on the VP230 for quick cycle? Just asking a lot of questions because that a lot of money to make a mistake.

JoeB nah. they make a double textured bag too but they are less common and more expensive.

No the VP230 does not have a seal only button. Once you activate the vacuum process it does a full cycle even if you hit the stop button it seals and lets air back in. Closing the lid starts it and when its done the lid springs open.
What took me 40 seconds in my 112s takes me about 12seconds in the 230.

JoeB Can’t speak for the VP230, but when you hit the stop on the VP215, it evacuates to the vacuum it is at and then seals. I do this for items that would crush to remove some air, but not all. I have found this feature very useful.

Thanks, you’ve been a great help. I too will have to pay up front. But it’s a good price $1179 w/free shipping. 60 day back order My Weston will seal 16” w bags. I guess I’ll use it for bag making.

We were hoping our vac sealers were on their way but they are not yet. I’d guess in the next two or so months we will get them. Or at least I hope!

Jonathon Checking back here, I emailed your CS couple weeks ago and some guy whose name starts with J said this: I am unaware of any Walton’s vacuum sealers in the works at this time.

So I found a VP215 on Amazon but since Amazon does not take Paypal so I could use my linked CC points I looked on eBay, but eBay checkout with Paypal does not show my points so I can use them I went direct to the seller in TX and was able to use my points. Uh-uh, did not have enough for sure but I cleaned them out.
So now I don’t have a sealer that says Waltons on it to match my new #32, 50# mixer and 26# stuffer!

RandyNight Thanks for letting me know about our cs team not being aware of the coming products. We are hoping to have them sometime in April! So, if your paypal thing didnt go through on Ebay there is still a chance if you can wait. I tried to name the chambered machine the JT-5000. I told Austin it would be for the Jet Technology but in reality, it was Jon Tremblay!

DO NOT get the Vac-Vida VS301! I bought one through Amazon in January 2020 because supposedly the company would stand behind their product. That’s a lie! Mine started giving me trouble in Dec. 2020. It would go through the vacuum cycle, try to seal, then repeat the vacuum cycle. I couldn’t get it to stop other than turning the machine off. After turning it off, the vacuum would eventually leak down enough so that I could open the machine > This usually took about 12 hours. I tried contacting the company but my phone calls and e-mails went unanswered. I finally bought another one from Ultra-Source. They are pricy, but I believe well worth the extra money especially if you want to package something delicate as they have the gas capabilities.
