New Meatgistics Features!

Hi guys, we rolled out som changes to Meatgistics yesterday. So, if you were running into 503 errors yesterday it was probably us doing that and not excessive load. First, we have taken out the list of waltonsinc.com categories at the top. At this point we think most everyone associates meatgistics with Walton’s and we wanted to use that for something else, so we removed it. The full list of categories from waltonsinc.com are still available, they are a drop-down menu on the Walton’s W Logo up near the home button.
We then added some preview panes for recent posts at the top to make it easier for people to see what is currently happening on the site. We played with it above the posts and below and both have their advantages so Power-User and everyone else, let us know if this is something you like/don’t like at the top.
We also added the subscribe to category button back. So, if you click on a subcategory like Meat Processing (https://meatgistics.waltonsinc.com/category/6/meat-processing) you will see a subscribe button next to it. You can unsubscribe from categories you don’t want emails on and subscribe to one you do!

Jonathon for some reason I have not been getting emails related to the community since the first part of November. I have checked my trash and spam and they are not there either. Do you have any idea why they have stopped? I miss being part of the community.

Kmucker The daily emails were turned off because they were crashing the system.

Kmucker It was making it so we were down for 45 minutes every day and I just couldn’t have that. We will get them turned back on at some point!

It looks like things worked. I never had any 503 errors, but things got slow. We can probably work on the slowness a bit, but we are at least improving!If anyone notices any issues aroun 1-2pm when Digest emails send, please respond here, or get a hold of Jonathon or myself.

Austin Had the 503 message tonight from 7:15 to about 7:55.
