Philly cheese brats sausage party
-
Today I processed the Philly cheese brats. Was cooking a test batch on my outdoor griddle and before you know it all the neighbors are here. So we had a little sausage party. As soon as I finished stuffing all of them we cooked them fresh. I tried the jarred cheese wiz as instructed. Pretty darn good. I also sautéd some mushrooms and onions in butter. They must have been good - it all disappeared. Still a bit for the freezer.

pr0wlunwoof Okay, I thought I had read that you “meh” rated Philly so maybe I was wrong? I used that information in another post so forgive me but this might get real confusing!

Jonathon That might have been me. I tried making a “test” using hamburger and it was “meh”. Boning out a pork butt tomorrow to do it right. lol

lkrfletcher dang good job. Now you have to go to the neighbors and eat the Johnsonville’s that he “puts the mean scald on” with his charcoal grill

I was planning to make Philly Cheese Brats out of beef since Philly Cheese steaks are made out of beef. However, seems like you used pork butts like normal. Any thoughts about using beef instead?

PeterDunlop I’ve never tried them with beef. Maybe a mix? Or you could do all beef and let us know how they are. I just always use pork for brats.
