My grinder is showing signs that it is about to kick the bucket. John, can you or Austin give an approximate time frame on when you will have your grinders in stock? I have heard other places that grinders should be available again about 9/20/20. Is that your approximate time frame?

We beleive we will have them in house in about 3 months, so close to that. That’s not a firm date but it is going to be close to that. We’re obviously hoping sooner but it is always better to underpromise and overdeliver than the other way around!

YooperDog What is the thermapen? Do you mean the Walton’s Waterproof Thermometer it is in stock! It actually has been for a while but it somehow go disabled on the website, I have just put it back on and it is on sale for $14.99. It is a great thermometer but I did change the description from instant to quick as further testing showed it was 5-7 second read not 2-3 like we were initially thinking.

As for mixers we should have them in a month or so and as soon as we do we will get them on sale and shipping!

Jonathon, or anyone else in our community. In some posting you replied to me, I believe you mentioned that the new Walton’s grinders you are trying to get in this year would accommodate commercial level knifes and plates. What is the difference between the commercial level and consumer level? Is it brand dependent, or something physically different. Thanks.

Chef Most of the commercial quality plates and knives can be sharpened with special equipment we have here. So, instead of buying new plates and knives you send them in to us and we sharpen them (for less than the cost of new retail plates) and they are made of higher quality material, so they keep their edges longer. So commercial plates cost a little more than retail (weston) plates but they can be sharpened not just thrown away and they will hold their edge a little longer.

Hope it helped, finished the Wild Turkey soup today!

Jonathon I need to upgrade my grinder and plan on investing in a mixer. Any chance they will offer a grinder/mixer combo deal?

Jonathon When Walton’s begins to sell their in-house grinder, is Walton’s considering selling an option with commercial blades and plates, such as an upgrade option?

scott farm I’m not sure on a combo but I’d be willing to bet we will be doing some good sales/deals on both items around the Holidays or maybe even sooner!

Chef That’s probably not going to be how we set it up but I will put links to the good grinder plates and knives (for each size) on the grinders web page. Unboxing, adding higher quality plates and knives and then doing something with the ones they came with might be a difficult task. I’ll bring it up with Austin though~

tim cahill We will have 2 #8s (kitchen style and regular) #12, #22, and a #32. As far as cost we haven’t gotten a firm amount yet but they will be in the range of the Weston grinders of similar size. As soon as we have that I will get it up on the website. They won’t be orderable for a while yet but I hope in the next day or 2 to have them up on waltonsinc.com and I’ll let everyone know.

The #32 did 10 lb 1st grind through a 3/8 (good plate and knife) in 37 seconds, second grind through a 3/16th plate (36°) in 1:15 or so. I’ll get HP posted when I get them on line but it’s either 1.5-1.75
