Jonathon I’ve never heard of Greta Northen beans, do you mean Great Northern Beans? 🙂

Jonathon I go for pinto, kidney, black and white beans (all undrained)…celery, crushed tomato, onion, peppers, cumin, chili powder and sometimes a little cornmeal. Chili must be presented with chopped onion, shredded cheese and soda crackers.

I would often take the leftovers and drain the chili using the ‘juice’ to make rice and then would make burritos and freeze them for later.

Ranch dressing mix? That’s just weird!

Joe Hell He does come from New York, so it’s probably a New York thing? He probably likes that salsa made in New York City as well.

Jonathon Call me what you will… but it looks to me like you are making a 3 bean casserole… which looks like it would be really good… but please do not confuse it with chili!

In fact, let me point out that it appears the official Waltons stance is “NO beans”… Since your Corporate motto is “Everything but the meat”… and having browsed your sales catalog from cover to cover, I can state equivocally that beans appear nowhere in the catalog and therefore do not appear to be a part of “Everything”…

Jonathon Joe Hell raider2119 Tex_77 Chili - really - arguing over Chili?! Man some people have too much time on their hands. I have had chili all across the US. I have had chili made with shrimp, catfish, veggie, steak, hamburger, chicken, turkey. With every kind of bean imaginable (okay, not Jelly). Heat levels from ketchup to "too damn hot to consider and some were good and some were lousy. However, my lovely wife makes a Chili with Cocoa and Cinnamon in the sauce that absolutely makes the angels weep it is so good.
there will be a big pot of it February 2nd when I watch the Chiefs beat the 49’s in the Super Bowl. BTW always fresh onions and cheese to put on top. The New Yorker probably has his on a bagel

Departing Contestant I too will add cocoa and/or cinnamon on occasion…it adds great depth! With exception of the seafood I have added all of the above. I’m sure shrimp would be excellent!

I’ve heard of adding cocoa and cinnamon, but have never tried it… Departing Contestant I’ve tried many of the varieties of chili you mentioned and I’ll agree, some were good… others were not…

As far as Feb 2nd is concerned, if it involves one of those sports that do not use hockey sticks, I am not aware of it… BUT… so long as beans are not included I’ll bring the bagels…

Tex_77 Jonathon We had a chili cook-off between employees years ago… Probably been 8 years at least.
I wish we could do a virtual one somehow for our Meatgistics users.
We could do another internal one, but getting anyone from outside or on Meatgistics involved might be difficult.

Austin The only solution for those that aren’t relatively close to Wichita is, to send in there chili frozen and ship it overnight, to be entered in the contest. Anyone local could cook on site (your parking lot).

I’ve heard of adding cocoa and cinnamon, but have never tried it… Departing Contestant I’ve tried many of the varieties of chili you mentioned and I’ll agree, some were good… others were not…

As far as Feb 2nd is concerned, if it involves one of those sports that do not use hockey sticks, I am not aware of it… BUT… so long as beans are not included I’ll bring the bagels…

raider2119 curious where does the “Raider” come from
But for the record my hockey team has the Stanley Cup (which my son and I will be visiting later this month)
                                      “long live the note!”

Might as well jump in here too. Meat, beans and a little brown sugar.

raider2119 Joe Hell Tex_77 and everyone else, this is why I love meatgistics!

Tex_77 “Ne York City?!” THAT was a great commercial! Also I guess I was thinking of Greta Thornburg and what her thoughts on beans in chili were?
