Hi Jonathon, BK84 is 100% correct on his evaluation of CCD and V. mites. I learned about 2 years ago how to get both somewhat under control. You gotta be your queen breeders’ best friend I only bring in this best of the best queens and monitor brood rearing for about 6 weeks. Also we sample for mites bi monthly. We try to use only the very best Queens from my breeder. Yeah, I got mites but their under control.
BK84, I had the same problem with my sugar dealer. Went to Sams and told them I made Moonshine and and needed 50 20 lb. bags. Everything was OK. They loaded and I was on my way. My Bees were surprised to get good clean syrup. They said thank you.

Hi Bee Man, Glad to see your second hobby. Snakes and bees, you gotta luv em. Since I quit working for a living years ago, I now have a real job. Running about 300 boxes on gallberry. All I want to mess with at this time. Bees, model trains (O gauge) and piddling in the garden makes me a happy camper.

Hi Guys, Got zero empathy and zero sympathy for all of you guys and gals out there trying to locate a little non -skid but finding only empty cardboard cylinders. You got it so very tough!!!
About 4 years or so ago, my CR surgery eliminated all my needs to locate non-skid. Thank you Lord, I so very lucky.

A question for the house or the retired railroader. I have a Smokin Tex electric 1400. My low temp is somewhere all over the map. Little or very little temp. control. Looking for a good controller and we read about the PID on this forum. My question to you please. Which PID controller should I be investigating. From their web site the price range ± $200 and many to choose from.
All ideas, suggestion, and inputs are appreciated.

Thanks J. I notice this during the cool down period after the ice bath. I’m thinking along the same lines. Maybe I’m adding to much cold H2O during my mixing. Next batch we’ll cut back on the added water.
    Thanks again

Hi Guys, my latest question how do I make Snack Sticks.
Any and all members that can help or have experienced this problem, please chime in…
My first 5 lb batches have been adjusted to a level of heat and salt that I like. That’s good for me.
Now my next concern. I’m using 19mm Smoke Collagen Casing. I have a problem with the cooked casing being very tough to bite thru and/or the casing comes off inside my mouth as I chew the SS. To me It appears the casing is not binding or adhering well to the meat of the SS. I can actually pull the cooked casing from the meat with ease.
OK guys, your thoughts and suggestions needed. We’re headed in the right direction.
    Best Regards
    Tommy

Hi Guys, tried my 1st SS. Made a 1/4 batch (6.25 lbs.) Willies and followed all the directions and the correct ratios. 4 my taste buds a little too spicy for me. Salt and heat is OK. Where or what do I change in the recipe to cut the spices a bit? Stay with me, I’ma learning. Tommy

  • What's the best way to order your products?
    O Ode -Tom

Message please to Jonathon and/or Austin. Now You have really confused me. Craigrice mentions going to the bottom of page then going to top of page then clicking thru about 100 different products and each one has about ten sub categories. That’s a lot of time and effort using the hunt and peck method trying to order from you. In all honesty, a real PITA. Now you tell me above that you give some knowledge on using the products but you don’t directly sell.the products.

BTW, You showed cold phosphate in 5 lb. bag for $25 and small round brushes to clean stuffer tubes. Connected the chat room and was hung up on and the contact us number has not returned my calls. Been about 10 working days
Please, please Jonathon or Austin, Just tell me your procedure, system for ordering about 15+ different items from you? I’m not mad, kinda upset as a customer with money and no customer service to place an order with. Please follow up and tell me what to do. In detail please. My very best regards. Tommy

Hi J, Thanks for your input. I have a small smoker that I need 14 in.SS rods to hang my snack sticks using collage casing. My racks are 14.25 in. outside rail to outside rail. This rack info is just for a measurement for the rods. Trying not to confuse the issue. Where can I order??
Thanks, Tommy. This last item (I think/hope) to get me up to mixing, cooking, and smoking. A very, very long process, hope like heck that first stick is goood, It will be expensive as hell.

A question on the availability a product please, it’s out there somewhere but can’t put my finger on it. I have a list of everything I need to get started but the smoker rods to hold the snack sticks while smoking. Best regards, Tommy

I have in house an a200/paddle mixer that I used in a former life to mix Honey Bee Pollen substitute. Does anyone use this unit to mix small batches of ground beef, pork, etc. (up to about 10-12 lb. max. size batches?? If yes, please share the benefit of your opinion. Best Regards, Tommy

Are you a mail order house??? Do you have any customer service?? Is your ordering just hunt and peck and hope we get the correct blends. Your site is an overload on cooking recipes. But zilch info on customer service and product uses and how to do’s.
To whomever is in charge of this Meatgistics site, where are your products and services.
Thanks guys, and please point me in the correct direction. I lov talking to one on one. Not some idiot robo computer.

Hey guys, I’m the new kid in the neighborhood and have only made a couple of posts on this forum. I have read extensively all of the post concerning prepping homemade snack sticks and I’'m ready to try my hand. I know I’ll make mistakes but I learn by doing. I’m as familiar as I can be with your on line processes and procedures, and you have done well in your presentations.
OK, Back to me and my problems. Hardware ??? 1. I have in-house a medium size household food grinder that I plan on trying?? to use. 2. I have a Hobart commercial stand mixer, 3 speed, 1/3 hp pulling 8.2 amps. I plan to buy the 16 lb. Walton stuffier. I can’t justify the Walton smoker at this time. Help needed on a reasonably priced and quality SS smoker. Thank You Tommy
