Gotta brag on my 12 year old son. Got his first bowkill ever this morning. He did it by himself cause I was hunting another property. He’s been hunting this buck since October 1st. He passed on alot of smaller bucks waiting for this guy and it paid off. I’m so proud of him to finally show that patience. He did shoot him a little too far back but he only went about 100 yards. I really enjoyed teaching him and my daughter how to follow a blood trail. It was a great day.

Had some nice weather so went and caught a good mess of largemouths the other day.

RON PARRISH I hunted this buck the whole muzzle loader season. I passed on numerous smaller bucks hoping this buck would show up in the daylight. Nothing like waiting till the last 15 minutes of the last day. But it paid off. Got my skinning crew all hooked up. It just amazed me how good my kids have gotten at this. They are now 11 and 12 years old. They’ve been doing this since they were 5. back straps and tender loins are coming out. 2hrs and 20min. from the time of the shot til the meat is on ice to bleed out for 3 or 4 days.

Grilled some bass this evening with captain’s bay seasoning. It was great. the fish grilling basket is a great tool.

Almost ashamed to show my kabobs after catching up on a week’s worth of posts. Wow what beautiful tasty looking meals yall prepared. Congrats to you all.

Everyone needs to have a great day once in awhile just to help stay focused on the important things in life. I had one of those days today. My son turned 13 today and got the news from church camp that my 11 year old daughter got saved today. Needless to say I’m a pretty proud dad today. I just had to share this with yall because I consider so many in this community as a close friend even though I have never met yall. Also to top it off my corn started tasseling.[ text](link url)

Man I had a great opening morning but now I’m sad. I’m tagged out on bucks and I’m tired. I hope everyone had as good of an opening day as I had. Good luck to everyone and be safe .

I thought some of yall would like to see this buck I just finished mounting for a local guy. He had it green scored at 203 and 5/8 inches. It was an impressive set of antlers to work with.

Grilled some largemouth for supper. It turned out great. the only problem was everyone loved it so I should have doubled the amount.

Well not really a meal but I made 25lbs of H summer sausage with jalapeños and bell peppers from the garden. It turned out great. it was 20 lbs of venison and 5lbs of beef fat.

I hate to breakup the spam train but I did some smoked snack mix that turned out pretty darn good. it was alot of work but fun

kyle I just have to share a picture of this great Oklahoma buck I just finished mounting.

My son enjoying some of his new presents . He got a really nice gun cleaning kit 2 new turkey calls and 1000 rounds of .22 ammo and a new float for the pool.
I also mounted one of his deer from this last season. It will take a couple of weeks before it’s ready to finish but he was sure happy to see it on a head. It’s his biggest buck.
