No turkey for me this year
-
I spy Mitchers! But which one?
-
Tex_77 small batch bourbon. I’ve got Weller Reserve, Antique, and Full Proof backing it up alongside a special half gallon bottle of Eagle Rare single barrel.
Joe Hell i couldn’t tell you the ladt time i saw a bottle of Eagle Rare.
-
Tex_77 I’ve seen that one quite a bit lately. This is the first time I’ve ever seen it in a half gallon format let alone a single barrel. One barrel was bottled for two liquor stores in Portland, Oregon. They also had a single barrel Blanton’s but My friend wasn’t able to get me one.

Joe Hell nice! Bet it’s tasty!

I opted out of the traditional holiday meal/family gathering and mail ordered some Reuben fixings from Katz’s Delicatessen in NY. I paired the sandwich with a large selection of fine bourbon and a Deschutes Brewery Jubelale. Best Thanksgiving ever? Probably.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Joe Hell I like Ruebens, but I don’t think I could pass on turkey with all the fixings, probably my favorite meal of the year.
-
Tex_77 I’m down to 2 bottles of Eagle Rare, and plan on gifting one at Christmas. I’ll have to keep my eyes open around here, or stop by Buffalo Trace and get another bottle or two. Five years ago, I could buy it anytime I wanted it.

Joe Hell Id be up for that meal. A good Reuben is hard to beat, especially with that line up of bourbon.

We have a Katz’s here in Houston, it’s a pretty popular late night post bar place. So I have never been inside of it well sober. But I have always enjoyed the pickle spears and sandwiches.
Also my parents don’t care for turkey, we have one just to taste it every year, this year we had baby backs.

Joe Hell that is a breakfast for champions
. Yum

Joe Hell that looks great. The question I have is; did that include the Michter’s at breakfast?
-
No competition at all, a top-flight Reuben beats turkey any day of the week. Good call, Joe Hell
