Thanks to a law change here in Oregon You can take your road kill and harvest it.
Good friend clipped a nice 4x4 black tail so I helped clean and butcher it with him so I made a 25 lb. batch of Willies snack sticks. Came out great.Road kill 2.jpg

mdseaside We have the same law here in WA., nice to get the meat rather than it going to waste beside the road especially a blacktail.

craigrice All we have to do is call Fish and Wildlife and report, they will either come out or just make a report depending on how many wardens are out and where they are.

Here you have to call the State Police and the will come and give you a piece of paper saying it is legally yours.

as long as people are made aware of the options for getting the meat in the proper way and knowing there is a way to receive it legally we all should be aware of the options

We can get a salvage tag here for road kill. I never have done it, but I think its no cost. Its better than letting the scavengers get it.

NY you can get a tag from law enforcement to keep it if you hit it with your vehicle

I am waiting for Dr_Pain to share his recipes for nutria snack sticks and armadillo snack sticks. Plenty available on the public roads in his neck of the woods.

Hahahaha!! I was thinking about sharing tree rat snack stick. Nutria is better in jerky (truly is)
