zbigjeff she did ask me if I needed another smoker! I showed her the price of a new one and she looked me dead in the eye and said “You better go get it”!

ND Mike Much like my wife, she understands about these things now that she is more involved in home processing. She helps me make sausage and sauerkraut.

I had a similar experience with a meat band saw. Since we’ll be butchering 4-5 hogs this fall I was shopping around and she asked what the meat saw would do for us. I showed her a video of one and 2 seconds in she exclaimed “We need that!”

Its so nice when they enable our obsessions.

I was bored earlier today and was looking on a local marketplace site and saw an add for a smoker. It was a Lil Tex 1400 for $60. I opened the add and it said he’d take $50 for it. I couldn’t call him fast enough. They are selling new for over $600! I can’t afford a PK100 right now so I will make this work. I plugged in to check it out and I’m rolling smoke! Score!!!

craigrice I don’t know, it might be pretty good. If I can ever talk her into an extra pint I might try to make some. I am pretty tight with it, don’t hardly share with my wife.

craigrice BBQ sauce with chokecherry juice is pretty good. I’ve heard of people making a glaze with chokecherry jelly and a bit of bbq sauce to put on ribs.

bocephus when I was a kid I grew up having a thing called cowboy bread at my Grandma’s. Don’t know why it was called that. It was white bead that was drizzled with chokecherry syrup then drizzled again with some heavy whipping cream. That was really good!!! I should try some of that again!!!
