Picked up a new toy!

Surg yeah I was very surprised when I called and he still had it! I’m gonna call Smokin Tex on Monday and order new decals for it. I called them last year and talked to them about their smokers and the guy I was talking to said they don’t change their heating elements or thermostats so if I found an old one I would always be able to get parts! I will probably order a spare element and thermostat as spares too.

I was bored earlier today and was looking on a local marketplace site and saw an add for a smoker. It was a Lil Tex 1400 for $60. I opened the add and it said he’d take $50 for it. I couldn’t call him fast enough. They are selling new for over $600! I can’t afford a PK100 right now so I will make this work. I plugged in to check it out and I’m rolling smoke! Score!!!

I was bored earlier today and was looking on a local marketplace site and saw an add for a smoker. It was a Lil Tex 1400 for $60. I opened the add and it said he’d take $50 for it. I couldn’t call him fast enough. They are selling new for over $600! I can’t afford a PK100 right now so I will make this work. I plugged in to check it out and I’m rolling smoke! Score!!!

processhead yeah they are pretty similar. Another one that is close to it is Smoking-It brand. I can’t believe what these things cost! I still want to make a smoker out an old 1950s fridge that I can get.

I had a similar experience with a meat band saw. Since we’ll be butchering 4-5 hogs this fall I was shopping around and she asked what the meat saw would do for us. I showed her a video of one and 2 seconds in she exclaimed “We need that!”
Its so nice when they enable our obsessions.
