cdavis Thanks, as we get older it has become more important to us. We are lucky that all of our wives are very understanding because we are gone for two to three weeks.

craigrice I think my longest on assignment stints were three months, but there may have been one or two longer. Most averaged around a month. I am slowing down a lot, but still at it. Most of them are more like a day or so now, with just a few week or more. I understand.

Gents it may be that they enjoy the few weeks away from us sometimes. Maybe not, but maybe.

craigrice same here. My occupation had a rather high divorce rate. Im one of those weird guys that enjoyed spending time with my wife and family. She is a Saint for putting up with me for over 3 decades.

It takes commitment, understanding, patience, communication, hard work, respect and trust from both committed parties to make it happen. Boy I just kept thinking of more things to add to that list. I think we all know now that there will always be challenges, but working together helps share the load and how lucky we are to have chosen those who stand beside us.

RON PARRISH there is an elk ranch in the New Paris, Ohio area. They sell vac sealed meat. Its kind if pricey, but it would give you a chance to try it if your up to the drive. I believe the name is Quiet Harmony Elk ranch.

YooperDog I have a rule on my boat that anything over 10 pounds gets released. Most of the sport fisherman on the lake go by the same rule. Milford is truly a trophy bluecat lake and we need to keep them trophy breading genes in the lake.

Grimpuppy I bet those cats put up a heck of a fight, I remember when I was young and caught a big one and had to drag it up on the bank to land it, was like pulling in a log in fast current.

I have read that beef processors spray the carcass with a vinegar solution to inhibit bacteria growth. Wondering if others do this with their game meats?
