-The volume of meat sales are down, plus revenues are up (Meat consumption is down for the first time in 6 years)
-Truly uncured meat options Prosur. They use no celery or other nitrate/nitrite heavy replacement

Pass it on Outdoor Mentors is an organization that our guest, Mike Christenson has worked for for a few years and they specialize in getting underprivileged children out into nature to experience hunting. This might be the first, or only positive interaction most of these kids will have with firearms or hunting and it helps change lives.

They also have the Gun a-week raffle where they draw a winner every Wednesday to win a firearm! Tickets are available at the above link.

Mike was an excellent guest and some of the stories he tells are both entertaining and emotional.

    Other Notes

Having Dylan, Brett and Kurt on was great, they are great people and made great guests, but if you listen to or watch just one of our podcasts please make it this one. Then, if you can get involved and help Mike and the Pass It On organization!

Great story and Mike is absolutely right. A mentor can have a huge impact on a youth. I’ve seen it many times as an adult leader with the BSA when my boy’s were working there way through this program. I haven’t done any outdoor mentoring but this was basically the same thing. But then again I was there for my three when it came to hunting and fishing.

As Mike said it’s an amazing feeling when you get the feedback and see a youth grow, learn and mature. You know that perhaps you helped this person to succeed.
