AdamCA First of anything is always a trophy, a memory you won’t soon forget and with a friend makes it even better. Congratulations!

Jonathon I’ve wanted to for a long time but never had the opportunity and my Jui Jitsu instructor has access to about 50 acres of private land that he hunts deer and now turkey. He invited me so of course I went, I’ve been deer hunting with him out there once a couple years ago and saw a ton of turkeys so I figured why not. What’s the worst that can happen, I get out of the house (which I’ve only left about 10 times or less in the last month) and see my buddy and sit in the woods. We did observe the proper protocol, took separate vehicles and stayed 6 feet apart. He didn’t want to shoot it because it was too small, I on the other hand wasn’t hunting for a trophy so he went home with me. Now in the Fall or next Spring I may be a little more judicious before pulling the trigger but not this time 😜

RON PARRISH Nicely done! It depends on what you want to do with it. If you are going to cure it I would suggest you use Walton’s Complete turkey Cure or if you don’t want to cure it the Soluble Turkey Injection Seasoning is a good choice.

Now, if you want something a little different the Dessert Turkey we made was actually awesome and recently I have been experimenting with Pa’s Black Bull in poultry and have been enjoying it!
