Website Anomalies

Noticed a couple of things I thought I’d share.
On the monthly drawing page it lists the dehydrator that was just given away with a pic of the knife set for the March giveaway. Hmm.
Went to look at the 11# stuffer on sale. On the page with all the stuffer’s the price shows
100.00on sale for 184.99. After clicking on the stuffer itself it shows the correct price199.99special price 184.99. Went to put in wish list but the option doesn’t seem to be there anymore.Speaking of the wish list the last time I placed an order I clicked on send all to cart. Most went but a few didn’t. Had to go back to the item and add to cart from there.
Not sure if anyone else is noticing this but just thought I’d share knowing Austin for sure has mentioned if we see an IS issue to let them know.

One more while I’m thinking about it. Joined the Masterbuilt group but that option doesn’t appear on my profile settings “groups”.
When logging in to Waltonsinc there is a box you can check to remember me. It doesn’t.

PapaSop I’m guessing that Jonathon fixed the giveaway page. We probably goofed on putting the new stuff in there.
The stuffer pricing was most likely a caching issue. When pricing changes, it can sometimes take a few hours to completely update our cache, plus the cache on our website backend, plus the website frontend, unless we purposely flush everything, which we don’t do often. It usually happens in a couple minutes, but sometimes can take a while longer.I turned off more wishlist features. We had some abuses with that, and instead of completely fixing it, I just keep disabling more and more of it. I put off fixing it because we were supposed to be on a new website by now, and that would fix things, but that is still a work in progress. Today I’ll be making a lot of progress there though! I’m hoping to have some things to share on our new website within a month or two! There will definitely be some really cool advances in the “wishlist” piece.
Jonathon and I will have to look into the groups thing. I see what you are talking about, but I’m not sure why it doesn’t show up on your select-able options for your profile.

Austin I haven’t made any changes to the win page since Monday. I suspect that was a caching issue as well.
PapaSop Post something again, I am pretty sure I fixed the badge issue and if that works for you I will make that change across all of the groups.

Tex_77 I’ve dabbled with putting Meatgistics into an android app. It is possible, but will require a bit of time from me to do a bit more development on. I probably won’t do it until we finish the new waltonsinc.com in a couple months. Could also do a informational app with seasoning calculators, recipes, and other static help info. Doing our actual ecommerce site will be another chore, that would be last to do, but anything is possible. I think there is a good chance we can have something out there in the somewhat near future.
There is currently a partial workaround to “install” Meatgistics as an app on your Android phone… In Chrome on Android, go to meatgistics.com. Then, click the 3 got menu button, and go to “Add to Home Screen”. That will allow you to put it on your homescreen like an app, and Chrome recognizes the site as being capable of running as a web app, not a full app, but close, and it will open Meatgistics as a full screen experience just like an app would run.

Austin Sweet, I’ll have to give that a try. I think an app for seasonings/cure conversions rates would be something great to have!

Austin Just went to account log in and same thing, didn’t remember. Pretty sure it’s not in my settings since other sites automatically remember. I’ll check on this though.

Other thing could be that you do need to clear your cookies and temp browser files. Maybe you have a really old cookie left in there that is conflicting.Austin thinking the same thing. Been messing around with this for awhile and it could be the browser I’m using. Switched to Chrome from MS Edge and everything popped right in. I know Chrome will save this info but not sure about Edge. I like Edge but has some quirks. May just switch to Chrome and go from there. Thanks. I’ll let you know.

Austin haven’t cleared the cache and temp files in a long time. Could be some of it.

Personal opinion here… Microsoft (MS) Edge kind of sucks… They are in beta to switch to the same base product as Chrome (Chromium is the base open source software). The new beta Edge is awesome, but the default install is pretty bad. MS has realized their browser sucks and they are getting on the Chromium bandwagon.I’ll have to run some tests here, but I assume the issue is in some sorts related to the old Edge, and if it is, it is probably going to stay since MS is going to move over soon.

Interesting. Austin now we have this happening to 2 people. I have trippled check both /sales, /win and /live and none of them are showing me anything to do with the dehydrator?
