life is short everyone needs to take time to enjoy the things that matter

craigrice absolutely. That is probably the most important thing in life that my job has taught me. Enjoy every moment, because nothing is promised!

ND Mike craigrice amen to that. Im heading out tomorrow to visit the great state of Tennessee for a long weekend. I have one uncle and aunt left alive. My Dad’s baby brother and his wife. He is 88 and I just need to visit for a spell. I will also visit my first cousin who has been in our chosen occupation ND Mike . After 30 years he is having to take a disability because of a neurological thing affecting his balance and speech. The docs cannot put a name to it yet, but have him on chemo. He is basically a little brother I never had. It just goes to show you. Don’t sweat the small stuff, and its all small stuff.

After all that jelly canning, my wife and I are drinking margaritas at a local Mexican restaurant. It tastes like uno mas!

ND Mike Go Bison, what a football tradition. One of my brothers and one of my sisters graduated from NDSU. The head basketball coach’s father used to deer hunt with us.

Speaking of bourbon. Anyone seen the documentary Heist on Netflix? Specifically the Pappygate! All I could do was shake my head. Unbelievable!
PapaSop lkrfletcher I watched it and compared it to the book about the Van Winkle family called “Pappyland”. In the book, Julian basically said that he doesn’t even think about it much because the “real good stuff” was basically just thrown away by the new owner of his dad’s place because he didn’t know what he had. That discarding of the real pappy was many more times the heist for sure. The book is down to earth and an easy read.

YooperDog I am getting really pumped for deer hunting, get together with my three brothers, one brother in law and a nephew. Trying to get another nephew to come, probably not this year but I keep working on him.
bocephus Me too. There will be three of us again, we were hoping to bump it to five, but scheduling issues. We are in the middle of nowhere off the grid and look forward to spending the last night in a motel, need a shower and a comfortable place to sleep after two weeks on the ranch. We will go through a couple bottles, but it is early to bed unless we are hunting pigs.

ND Mike Sounds like the Bison struggled today, just follow them on my computer gamecast, but they won. I think they had way to many penalties today.

bocephus yeah, I was working so I was listening on the radio. It sounded like that. The Bison announcers weren’t happy with the officiating from the sound of it.

calldoctoday its the best time of the year. It was only in the 50s during the day here and will be in the 40s tonight. Love it.
Yes great for getting out and enjoying the day. It also signals the rush to get things in order before the sn** arrives ( refuse to accept it). Great for hunting and enjoying a good fire. My punchlist keeps growing and the days keep getting shorter. The good thing is it is getting better for cold smoking.
YooperDog Ditto on the punch-list & time it takes me to do it all!

Dr_Pain Sounds like your daughter has a lot of control over you as most daughters do over their fathers, but you never know you might like it.

When that face looks at you and asks with those puppy eyes “Hey, papa I know you like crown and I love peaches, how about if we buy this so we can SHARE IT! “

Dr_Pain Daughter’s DO have their methods that are full proof. There’s no shame in THAT!! The Crown Peach is a needed commodity in Northern Ohio. People stalk the stores here. Most guys buy it so they can satisfy their better halves or DAUGHTERS. Then, they can have their bourbon in peace. I did taste it and it’s not bad for a different taste.
