Austin Any chance that you could add a member map so we could see if people from our area are on Meatgistics? I connected with a guy here in Rochester that grew up in PA about 20 minutes from each other and shared a lot of butchering experiences. We’ve been making sausage together ever since!!
Parksider Well, to do that requires a bit of special coding and programming… But I love the idea! I’m sure I can do that, but I don’t know how long it will take. I love a good challenge though.
I’ll have to look and see what can be done and I’ll report back here. My biggest concern is how many people sign up and actually fill out the location information… I’ll see what I can come up with and let you know! -
Austin Instead of going and creating a map, a simple solution would be under Roll Call to create a post for every state, then people could name the town in that state that they live in? Maybe a short term option while you look at this extra coding, because I am pretty sure you don’t have the time right now and I don’t have the skill to do that!

I got the map working!!!There is one slight downside to it. You have to go in and re-save your profile.
On a mobile device, click the menu button, then “Edit Profile”. On desktop, click your profile image in the top right, then click “Edit Profile”.
Mobile:
Desktop:
From there, just input a “Location” if you don’t already have one entered, and click the “Save” button! (If you already have a location entered you still have to re-save your profile)
You can just do a “City, State” for a slight bit of anonymity, or you can even use a full address.After updating your location, you can go to https://meatgistics.waltonsinc.com/map or click the link in the top menu bar that looks like this:

Parksider We store the geolocation of whatever you input for your location in your profile, but to initially get the geolocation, an action has to be taken, so only those who have re-saved their profile since we set this up show up on the map. I’m hoping to run a script to automatically run it for every account, but I haven’t had time to get to that part yet. So, hopefully more people add or re-save their location and more will show up, or I get that script finished.
Thank though! Glad you gave us the idea for the map, and I do think it adds a lot to this whole deal, and everyone’s backstory and location is a cool part to see!
