Weston 330lb Digital Scale

Does anyone have the Weston 330lb Digital Scale? In the reviews of it, I noticed that it said it did not perform well at weights under about 2lbs, has anyone had that problem with it? Could that problem not be overcome, by weighing what ever you are weighing into a heavy item, say like a large glass measuring cup? Also is it truly necessary to have a 50lb weight to calibrate the scale, that seems like it would be pretty inconvenient. Jonathan

Tex_77 I have that scale and have not used it to measure anything under 5 lbs. I also have the small digital kitchen scale that I use to measure out seasonings, cure and if I’m using them additives. I use the big scale to measure meat in a big bowl or meat lug, depending on how much I am making.

Tex_77 Yup, under 2 lb it doesn’t seem to be terribly accurate. I actually gave up on it the one time I needed to measure something smaller than 2 lb and just used the compact digital kitchen scale. I have never had a problem with it over that 2 lb threshold though.
I brought it home once and laid a thick piece of plywood on it so I could try to weigh my dog, he did not cooperate sadly!

Jonathon best way to do that is weigh yourself on your scale then pick up your dog and weigh the both of you.

Dog weighs at least 140 at this point and I am 180 something so we can’t find a scale that will weigh us together!
