I just finished “Fierce Valor: The True Story of Ronald Speirs and his Band of Brothers” it’s pretty good. I would definitely recommend reading Band of Brothers and watching the mini series before reading this book.

Austin Jonathon so I got a State of Kansas Library card, which now allows me to read free eBooks/Audiobooks so goodbye Audible. It was really easy to get, I just had to go to my local library to get signed up.
For everyone not in Kansas I would check with your State library to see if they have a similar program.

So my last listen was Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy SEALs Lead and Win by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin. I thought the book was excellent and provided many practical leadership principals with lessons from the battlefield and how they can be applied to business. I would highly recommend this book to anyone in a leadership role within a business. Austin Jonathon I plan to follow this up with the next book they put out The Dichotomy of Leadership: Balancing the Challenges of Extreme Ownership to Lead and Win

So my last listen was Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy SEALs Lead and Win by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin. I thought the book was excellent and provided many practical leadership principals with lessons from the battlefield and how they can be applied to business. I would highly recommend this book to anyone in a leadership role within a business. Tex_77 “The Dichotomy…” read would be very interesting. The only theme I never enjoyed as a consultant was a “Micro Manager”. Just sayin’.

Jonathon I will check it out, I just started War by Sebastian Junger, which the movie Restrepo is based on. It has been very good so far.

mac21st I’ve listened to several of Mike Rowe’s and they are good, my wife likes them as well. Bourbon Purist is a good one as well that I listen to from time to time.

I just picked up Steven Rinella’s new book. “Outdoor Kids in an Inside World” We’ve got a 2 year old and one cooking now, at about 20 weeks. I’ve always been one to explore, travel, hunt and fish, so I don’t think I’ll have a problem with exposing our littles to those concepts, but I am curious to read the perspective of someone who spends infinitely more time in the outdoors and very remote regions, exposing his children to “dangerous” things. I also want my wife to read it, I mainly bought it for her to read.
I am fairly proud to say that our two year old doesn’t get screen time. We don’t have cable. We do watch a show some nights with him, but no ipads or phone time at this point, unless he grabs one of ours and runs off with it, briefly! We spend most evenings outside playing or working on the chores.

RafterW I have that book as well, have started it, but got busy and haven’t picked it up in a while. Jonathon I finished War by Sebastian Junger, and it was good, I’d recommend you give it a listen then watch Restrepo. I also noticed Junger has a book called “Freedom” that I want to listen too. I just started The Dichotomy of Leadership: Balancing the Challenges of Extreme Ownership to Lead and Win last night and am enjoying it so far. I’m kind of thankful anymore for my daily commute so that I can listen to all of these great books and podcasts.

Tex_77 I agree on the commute. All in all, I drive about an hour each day between work and daycare; I get to keep up on a lot of Rogan. I usually save the Bear Grease podcast episodes for road trips, they are in more of a story format, rather than conversational.

RafterW Your methods to enjoy the “outside” world is enviable. Too many use “electronics” strictly as a “baby sitter”. Love that both of you support this type of life. Also, wish both of you the best with your future family member. Note: I’m way past building that environment. But, do very much support it.
