Not as smooth as the 1870 Original Batch but decent, gonna be one I’d pour on the rocks.

HerbcoFood I’ve got a bottle of that myself, can’t beat the price.

I have now stepped it up to the big boy proof, it really doesn’t drink as high as the proof says it is. I’ve had the small batch 1792 which I think isn’t very good at all.

glen It is tasty, but I have to do the lemonade & as many of the other things that I can, homemade. hard to do a peach though unless you could find a good ol NEHI Peach!

HerbcoFood Oooh, that’s some good stuff you’ve got there!

HerbcoFood My standard got to though.

This is almost like tequila but it’s not, pretty good to me. But I also enjoy tequilas served neat.

HerbcoFood OK, educate me. What’s Sotol? Does it make a vodka???

HerbcoFood Never tried the “full proof”. Glad you say it’s good.

zbigjeff It is made from a desert plant, so it’s closer to tequila but since it’s not made from the agave plant nor made in the Tequila region of Mexico it can’t be classified as such. There are some tequila similarities I can taste but it’s still very different at the same time.

HerbcoFood Glad you could try some “strange”. Will be looking for that if it ever hits the north.

which one should I have? -
Jonathon Tell us which you like the best
-
Jonathon how are you drinking it?

Jonathon Never saw or heard of either. It’s like many spirits. Some are good and some are awful. The best tequila I’ve experienced was Blue Horseshoe while in Juarez. It was fantastic.

Here’s a Moonshine we were sipping on (including Homemade Slivovitz) when smoking some cheese. Day drinking taken to a new level.

Today is Armed Forces day, and Monday 30 May 2022 will be Memorial Day. I am posting this for all who served, and remembering those that never had the opportunity to take off their uniform.
“A Soldier”
I was that which others did not want to be.
I went where others feared to go. And did what others failed to do.
I asked nothing from those who gave nothing, and reluctantly accepted the thought of eternal loneliness, should I fail.
I have seen the face of terror, felt the stinging cold of fear, and enjoyed the sweet taste of a moment’s love.
I have cried, pained, and hoped, but most of all I have lived times others would say were best forgotten.
At least someday I will be able to say I was proud of what I was…

JoeB Well said brother. I love that poem. It always brings to mind Teddy Roosevelt’s “Man in the Arena” speech. Memorial day definitely takes on a new meaning the moment you bury a brother or sister in arms.

A new one before I hit the road again. Notice the safety seal at the top. It was a mad dash to my skateboard once I dodged security, LOL. Told the cashier 3X about it. Smooth drink with a sweet finish and a light burn.

One of my favorite wines, I like tasting the bourbon on the back end.
