How crazy am I going?

With the most recent news on Russia putting forces on high alert for Nuclear Weapons deployment I just bought a decent amount of antibiotics and potassium iodide pills. What else would make me better prepared for the “after times”?
To be clear this is a joke for the most part…aside from the fact that I 100% bought Potassium iodide and antibiotics.
Jonathon a good stock of Russian vodka! I don’t think antibiotics will save you from radiation poisoning!

mrobisr You know in the beginning, we were trained to help survive nuclear holocaust & understand nuclear fission & propulsion. It was a different world then. Then it was all about natural disaster & that is what the focus has been for about the last 30 years. We do not need for history to repeat itself. Let’s just hope all this nonsense subsides.

calldoctoday Majority of my career in the Army was preparing for a war with USSR and the end was a totally different fight, but the one thing that is for sure is history always repeats itself. I like you just hope not this time, but as a combat engineer I always think like if I were the enemy what would I do and that always leads me to have it and not use it who cares, need it and not have it oh c**p! I do not like oh c**p, but I pray this is a political exercise except for those poor people of Ukraine it is real.

I’ve got the water figured out already. mrobisr Cash probably isn’t a bad idea, though with inflation I am trying to diversify into other items. calldoctoday It was a different world. The old saying, Tough times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, weak men crates tough times. I cannot believe I am a grumpy old man like this! “Back in my day we were REAL men, while this high schoolers do tik-tok dances!” seriously, I cannot believe this!

gus4416 I’m afraid it may be a little late. He has been friendly with them for a while. We definitely cannot afford to take our eyes off of China.

mrobisr I know I’m preaching to the choir, but I think it has gotten real for the soldiers in the Russian army as well. They have been taking plenty of casualties. Keep in mind that some also have family in Ukraine. It would be like the US and Canada going to war against each other. Both sides are suffering needlessly. I do not believe we should put boots on the ground in this, but because we failed to properly support an ally it could go that way in the future. The time to support your friends in time if war is before the first shot, not after it has started. I never thought I would see better leadership from NATO than the US, but it manifested itself last week.

There were three of us that ran together and only one of could get to his money, one buddy and me could not get to our money even though we were getting paid and that taught me a very valuable lesson on having cash on hand. Never again will that happen to me, just something to think about.
