Congrats to lkrfletcher and Surg ! My hat’s off to ya chefs!
Speaking of hats, Well you know twilliams put your hat on please, “Momma Where is my sunglasses?” Tee Hee hee ;<)
@dennyo its actually time to shave the head it’s getting way too long
-
twilliams You should look into some suction cup feet for the stuffer, they do work very good.
bocephus it’s the only place I do my processing so I’m gonna drill holes in the base and lag bolt it down.

twilliams You might find that it will behoove you to use a machine bolt with a fender washer & a lock washer in that application vs the Lag. At least from what I am seeing. The apron looks great. Got two for my sons this season.

calldoctoday yeah your probably right on the machine bolt. Not sure why I said lag, I meant carriage. But even that wouldn’t be as good as a machine bolt.

Even though guys are having good luck with suction cups, I keep my stuffer bolted down to a work surface.
If I couldn’t bolt it to the kitchen counter or kitchen table, I guess I might try the suction cups.
Another option is to bolt it to board and clamp it to the work surface with a couple of C clamps.

twilliams There would not be anything wrong with a carriage or even a stove bolt for this application, so long as it is bolted vs screwed. I do the same thing when talking about them sometimes.

processhead Best option is a dedicated meat processing shed or room where we can set everything up perfectly to include a walk in cooler & maybe even a freezer. That way everything is dedicated, bolted down, & can be washed down & sanitized efficiently. That would be a utopian dream set up for me though, so just keep clamping my beast down with deep reaching & double footed C-Clamps. I have been dreaming about that set-up for so long now it must not matter.

calldoctoday I seen on here were someone bought a rolling cart for their setup and thought that might help, so I got one too and now need to get all my equipment together and see about positioning since I as you will probably not have that dedicated meat room any time soon.

calldoctoday I found a place in Wisconsin awhile back when we were looking at moving. The owner had just that for his man cave set up. I thought it was great, but my wife not so much. She said it reminded here to much of the Dexter series, so no matter how much she may have liked the place we weren’t going to buy it. So close to utopia, now I just need to win the lottery, LOL.

YooperDog That is hilarious! Best of luck on the lottery & Utopia. I remember about 60 years ago when we used to go up to Wisconsin every now & then to visit folks & camp, that they had those basements & some of them had some very similar setups in them, not to mention other good things. I really liked them. I hope that does not mean I might be a Closet Dexter.

calldoctoday I fell in love with the room, couldn’t tell you much about the house except it was in a rural/country setting. Stainless, tables, cabinets, overhead trolley, cooler and freezer walk-ins, deep sinks, sanitation set up. I can’t even recall the color of the house or any other room.

YooperDog That is serious! That would be my kind of house except add a workshop for wood working with all my tools & equipment in place. At one point I would have taken the mechanicking shop too, but it has gotten now to where I cannot afford the ones that I would enjoy & be able to work on. Besides, we can eat what we process & use what we craft, but you don’t want to be caught eating any of them engines.
