cdavis
I did a double take when I first saw the picture. That branch on the tree looked like a long tail at the first glimpse.processhead I didn’t even notice that but it sure looks like it at first glance.

I had this little kitty slip by my stand a few minutes ago. It sure spooked the does I was watching.

cdavis Here Kitty Kitty Kitty

cdavis that is so cool. I have never seen a bobcat in the wild!
-
ND Mike this one is kind of an odd color most of them here are really spotted up.
-
cdavis I noticed that. Come to think of it, I’ve never seen a mountain lion in the wild either. I’ve heard them and come across their tracks but never seen one.
This is the pic of a track I came across in MT. That is a 7mm Rem Mag shell for size comparison. This was a big kitty cat!

cdavis That would get your attention. Just a quick question… Who pooped first, you or the cat.

ND Mike yes sir that is a big track. Now one of those would get me on edge. I called one in while turkey hunting several years ago. He passed by me at 30 yards. I never took my gun off of him. He was huge and every hair on me was standing straight up.

wdaly that is funny
. Bobcats don’t bother me and he never knew I was there. Now when they get bigger than that I’ll be the one needing new underwear! -

cdavis Here Kitty Kitty. That’s a pretty good size guy. We have a few of them on the property around us too.

ND Mike That is probably a Couger for you isn’t it? we used to get those Mexican Mountain Lions on our property in Texas when we lived there & there were a few good sized ones back then.
-
ND Mike The most amazing one I saw was on our property in Texas when we were there. I can still see it clearly in my mind’s eye & would just about give my left arm if I could have gotten a real picture of it. It was not a real big Bob Cat, but big enough & sitting upright on a downed tree (tree at an angle) looking right at me & watching. You remember those kind of things.

calldoctoday yep for sure. Things that you normally don’t see you remember. I’ve come across wolves and a black bear in Northern MN. Those are memories that don’t fade.

ND Mike I saw a black bear this year from my stand, didn’t get my camera fast enough to get a picture. We have gotten pictures on some of our trail cams though. How has your deer hunt gone so far? We ended with three, weather didn’t cooperate this year.

bocephus I have only got to hunt 3 days so far. The weather was too nice those days. I am off today but the wind is gusting 60 mph so I am staying home. I did get a call from my Dad last night. He went and sat in an abandoned farm yard and harvested his buck. He was pretty excited when he called. I’m proud of him. He is 71 and still gets it done. He did have to call my youngest brother to help him load it in the pickup. Here is a pic of him with the deer and his youngest granddaughter.

ND Mike Congrats to your Dad! Well done!

processhead thanks. I’m glad he filled his tag. With our deer populations you are not guaranteed a tag every year anymore. Especially if you put in for a buck tag. Sometimes you can go 4 years or more without a buck tag. When I was younger it was a 100% guarantee. Times have changed for sure.
