ND Mike Ditto. I feel like the modern inlines are too close to a modern rifle & do not bring the nostalgia that a true old style ball & cap or flintlock bring.

calldoctoday yep for sure. I won a Thompson Center Omega inline and shot it once and sold it! It was just like shooting my regular deer rifle. I love using a traditional style rifle.

Spent the weekend with my family hunting. We didn’t harvest any deer but saw plenty. We are just picky. I was treated to some amazing ND sunrises and sunsets!

I have seen plenty of does this season, but actually looking to take the ranch hog population down a few numbers. Hanging out in the low 80’s during the day would have to make a speedy processing once down. Cameras here have shown nice bucks in the 8+ point range. Night temps get into the mid 40’s plus. Looking forward to the weekend when the weather will be changing. Good luck all for whatever you are chasing.

Lots of chasing activity around here.
Plan to sit later this afternoon/evening. Big weather changes headed this way with high winds and rain, so trying to get this last hunt in before firearm season opens this weekend.

ND Mike They look like some of the sunrises and sets I have been seeing from my stand. Hunting is kind of slow I think the weather warming up has a lot to do with it. Tuesday morning was cooler and we saw a lot more activity but then warmed up in the afternoon and it slowed down again.

ND Mike Suppose to be a front coming in today, I am hoping that it will get the deer moving ahead of the front to feed earlier this afternoon. We have three deer so far but nothing too big, we have seen a few but not on our land.

bocephus same story for my neck of the woods. Hoping for some high activity this weekend. Skipping the opening weekend of our pheasant/quail season to sit for deer instead.

ND Mike I have actually had some pretty good hunts being out right when those all day heavy winds stop. We knew it was going to stop with about an hour of light left. Now of course there still has to be daylight left for it to work but it’s just like when a heavy rain stops the wildlife switch turns on. However, I don’t think I’d get out into anything and wait for 40mph to stop blowing.
