    Departing Contestant Powerful!

I know with my dog, I call her my daughter because I think she loves me more than my own, LOL, I get total love, total acceptance, total loyalty, and total forgiveness. I know of only one other place to find that, but we’ll not get into spiritual relationships.

I have not gone through a loss of a dear pet, but I can only imagine how difficult it will be.

Chef what you say is so true. I never thought of it like that. You could sell t shirts and bumper stickers with that quote. I have lost 4 dogs now, and they all had their own special things about them that could never be replaced, however when you get a new one, it helps to lessen the pain and soon learn what special little thing grabs your heart.

Departing Contestant thanks for sharing. I’ve never read it until now, but I am not surprised how eloquently Kipling describes the love and loyalty of man’s best friend.

before anyone’s dog gets too old you should get another pet and the new one will learn from the older and will know what is expected of them

Lost my dog Moxie yesterday. She appears to have died peacefully while she was sleeping. She was 9 1/2 years old and half Lab/half German shorthair. She was the best hunter and dog I have had. They take a big piece of your heart with them when they go. The two pics are when she was a pup and the other one is from about two weeks ago.

craigrice That is a great idea & we have thought of it several times, but our healers would be so singularly loyal, we could just not come to doing it. Still a great idea & we should have as there is no better teacher than a really good friend.

Aw man! That news just hit me deep in the stomach. As you can see from my avatar, my dog is keeping an eye on you guys. As a trained service dog she comes with me everywhere I go. I cannot and do not want to imagine the day when she is no longer on this world. My heartfelt sympathy to you!

Dr_Pain thank you. It is a bit easier now. I still have her brother but he is 8 so I know I will have heartbreak again in the future. I wouldn’t change a thing though. There is nothing more loyal than a dog.
