I was down 6.4 lbs. Monday, from the previous Monday. 258.8.
I’ve tried the keto thing, with no success. I don’t know anyone who has been able to sustain only eating protein.
I joined the orange team because they had fewer members, which seemed to imply that they were more elite. It appeared that the blue team would accept just anybody!

Jonesy Keto isn’t just protein, it does work if done correctly. I personally wouldn’t do the strict keto, that’s just insane. We have 2 keto cookbooks and a bunch of recipes off the internet that helped us. I went from 202 down to 162 in about 6 months. Then it became summertime and didn’t want to cook to heat up the house as we don’t have central air. As well as we have terrible hours and strenuous daily work so just didn’t feel like cooking anymore. I know, poor excuse. And yes I’m back to my bad habits and beginning weight if not more.

Chef - great job on the 5.6 lbs. It takes some intestinal fortitude to drop 5 lbs. in a week. Amazing that you can do that while you’re catering. I’m sure I could not handle the temptation.

Jonesy You also did fantastic. Frankly, having this journey with others does make it easier. And it’s not competitive, just people doing life together…

              Week 3 checkin:
194 lb! That is somewhat surprising as I struggled to maintain my “only eat food you made” rule, what with the website launch and everything, last week I ate a Pizza one night…but that was the only thing now that I am thinking about it. So, started 201, down 7 lb so 1/4 of the way there!

As for how I am feeling I don’t know…I didn’t maintain my almost manic state from last week. I think part of that might just have been the constant go go go from last week. Plus I have now “worked” 3 weekends in a row…okay okay one of those was going to Flint Oaks for a shooting event for Pass it on Outdoor Mentors, not exactly what we would call “work” but I still feel like I have to be “on” at things like that so I am looking forward to the upcoming long weekend!

Jonathon Down to 238.6 dropping only 1.2 pounds but feeling better and the back and knee pain is defiantly much less.

Still sticking to my only eat what I make rule. I think that the elimination of all the process stuff helping. Looking to a better loss over the next week.

Not s much weight for me, as it is lowering cholesterol. That being said, I am exactly the same weight as I was last week.

Jonathon This week was a challenge. Company in from out-of-town all weekend. Wife’s surprise retirement party Friday night… Grandson’s birthday party Saturday night… Beaucoup excuses why I went Up 2 tenths this week. However, all things considered, I consider the whole thing a win. It’s the type of week where I could have easily went up 5 lbs. 259.0 this morning.

Jonathon I also decided to join in. Mine started 2 weeks ago. Started at 209.5 lbs. Weighed in last night at 204.3lbs . I’m also trying to eat only what we make. No processed foods and smaller portions. It’s a little easier to do with a freezer full of meat and the garden starting to produce. Good luck to you all and stay strong. I’ll try to do the same. Almost forgot my goal is 185lbs.

So, I got to this party a little late. It happens when work rules your life (what life) and you’re overweight… I’m in. Starting today no prepared crap for me. I’m 252 looking to get down to, and I know this is ambitious, 175. I was 179 at 18 when I left for Basic Training. The only things that have changed are my weight and my age. I’ve eaten a lot of processed foods over the last almost 40 years, much of it stemming from bad choices in food when I was a cop. It’s multiplied since then. But a loss of ~77 lbs has to be better than where I’m at now. I support anyone jumping on this train. Lets get healthier together.

Jonesy Always going to be challenges, have to take your wins and your losses and move on. This Saturday we did about 10 hours of yard work (I know that sounds like a lot but I love working in the yard) and then was too tired to make anything so we ordered a pizza. I didn’t beat myself up about it, just recognized it as a bad decision but something that is going to happen and moved on. I will “check in” with #s tomorrow.

Luckily Saturday was nice because it has been raining in Wichita for basically 2 weeks, the sun came out for 1 day and then back to gray all the time, looks like New York in the winter just without the snow!

So, if anyone somehow happened to not see it you need to check this post from Joe Hell Big goals deserve big rewards and you will know exactly what can be accomplished with a good diet and a healthy dose of will. Well, I have fallen off badly from being in the best shape of my adult life a few years back and I want that back. I feel like I have fallen off in energy levels and in mental clarity.

So, my plan is this, I am going to commit to eating NOTHING but what I have made myself. This means I can have anything I want that I have cooked myself and 0 prepared foods. So, steak, chicken, salad, veggies obviously are all good. Packaged sushi. pizza (this’ll hurt) and anything that has already been cooked or preseasoned at the store is out.

I’ll try to a check-in every Tuesday on this post, whenever I reach my goal weight I will do some sort of fun/funny thing to celebrate, thinking of sky-diving!

Current weight (with clothes on): 201 (I knew it was going to be not good but yikes)

I think it is alright to go outside your diet occasionally, as long as you recognize your goals and get back on it. Weekends are always worse for me, doing things and then too tired to cook. I try to have some premade meat cooked up and vacuum sealed and can easily put it in a pot of boiling water while showering. Quick meal and stays in my diet.

So I hope you guys don’t mind if I join the party. I started to watch what I eat 2 weeks ago. I am hoping that with the group supporting each other we all will win. I’m down 7 so far…a long ways to go. Joe Hell I did like reading your blog, kinda inspired me.

hey vegetarians, my food poops on your food!

I’m up 1.6 lbs from last Tuesday, to 266.0. Hitting reset. Tomorrow’s another day.
