The grinder heads show up on the second hand market from time to time. If you don’t already have a grinder, I would be looking to score one.

processhead I paid $1100.00 for it from a local used restaurant equipment store. It was pretty dirty when I got it. I ended up taking apart the bottom plate to remove all of the old crap and polished it up. It looks really nice now. I also replaced the blades and locking collar and nut. I’ve been mainly making frankfurters with it along with a loaf of Leberkasse.
Pivodog is yours the 84145 or 84186?

You will want to check the model information on the name plate of your machine and let us know which one you have.
Also, can you post a couple of pictures of your machine’s power drive port? If you can remove the dust cover off the power drive on your chopper and clean off the grease before you take the pictures, we can see what you have.
Your machine most likely uses a #12 Hobart grinder head which has a square drive for the auger and a round, tapered shank for the head.
Here is a picture of the head/ auger from mine that plugs into the power drive.
Another photo shows what the power drive hub looks like viewed from the open end.
The dowel pin on the head holds the head in alignment on the power drive hub. The recess in the grinder head shank aligns with the lock screw on the hub to lock it to the chopper.

This is my Grandpa in his butcher shop in 1943. Not much meat to be found during war rationing. You can see his old grinder in the background.

processhead Mine looks like it has the same dimensions as yours. I’m expecting a couple of slabs of back fat tomorrow. So, it might be a 10lb run of Summer Sausage this weekend.

Yeah, I have a Pro-Cut Grinder, but I’d rather not get it dirty?LOL
What I like about the chopper is that seems to be better at creating a good emulsion/binding.

The chopper will get get you a finer emulsion, but you will still want to run everything through the pro-cut coarse and fine plates.
A guy has a like-new #12 Pro-cut for sale on FB market place along with a ton of extra plates, knives and other swag for $500. Wish I needed it. lol

Sure. Just to clarify, his grinder is badged with a Tor-Rey label. As I understand it, they are now marketed as Pro-cut.
