I have a VacMaster VP112.
I sometimes use textured bags but had enough tiny seal leaks I quickly double seal with an external sealer, no problem with smooth bags.
Others do not seem to have that problem so it may be that I have slightly defective machineGive a man a fish and he eats for a day

Costco not a bad deal!@s-a-m Just a note, that’s an LEM product. Lem puts out a fair product for the money, and I’ve bought fm them. When they were first up and running I even did a little phone tech support with them. What i have seen is that if you buy fm a 3rd party vendor dirt cheap, they chintz on the warranty because the vendor bought bulk with the understanding that the vendor would support the warranty.

The failure rate is pretty bad, thus my choice to go to a chamber sealer. It didn’t matter whose bags I bought, I have always got leakers with the external bags.

JoeB The textured external bags work fine in the Vacmaster machines, The VP215 is a lighter machine weight wise. You have to look at what you are going to use it for to justify the cost as well. All the Vacmasters reach the same vacuum rate, some take longer than others. You can only reach a certain amount of absolute vacuum in our atmosphere. Look carefully, most places don’t have them in stock and are taking orders for shipment in April. They are coming from overseas.

JoeB While you can used the textured bags in a chamber vacuum sealer, they are typically more expensive than the non-textured bags.
Chef thanks, I have about 1000 vac bags, all sizes for my weston 2300, Just wanted to use them up if they would work on a VP230

JoeB They are rated at a maximum of 29.75 inches of mercury. 30" of Merc is impossible in our atmosphere and considered a perfect vacuum. The VP220 is just like the VP215 except that it’s maintenance free (oil less)

The textured bags do work, just be aware you may have leakage due to the quality of the bags. They also slip a bit on the sealing bar if you don’t have them over it far enough.

I stand corrected , that’s the 2nd thing that stops working when you get old… You made me ck. . . . And that’s a good thing because i am always in agreement with myself
The specs on the VP230 is by manufacture 29" It’s stated that the VP220 will only do 26". Thanks -

Good point, I have never seen a vac chamber up close. . . . Doesn’t the lid hold the bag on the seal bar?

JoeB It does, it has a rubber seal inside that hold it down, but the bag inflates during the sealing and will pill out from under the bar if you don’t overlap the bar far enough. Seems the external bags are slicker due to the pattern. All the Vacmaster machines do 29.75 inches, it states that other machines (meaning other brands) only do 26". By the way, I am probably as old as you are, we all have those brain farts now and then

JoeB It’s a nice machine too, does a bit wider bag, about 5 lbs. heavier than the VP215. Functionally it is the same as the VP215, just has more ponies driving it. You would be very happy with that as well.

badfire2625 1st, thank you, we are both better and back to work, I handled it like more of a man than Austin did. We have an interesting competition coming up here pretty soon, we need to get past a few things but he made a statement recently that was just insane about the speed of something so I have to prove it (live) and then collect some sort of reward! We started talking about it around Christmas but that was just the demo units that we were testing that we showed during one livestream. JoeB Stand strong brother!
As far as the price of the units goes, I have no clue at this point. So many things are sky rocketing in price right now. It hasnt hit us terribly yet but I am sure it is coming. If anyone doesnt know what I am talking about, put a nice laptop or tablet in your cart in amazon and go back a week later. It’ll be 5% or more. I am not a stocks guy but I bought some bitcoin a few months ago as I want to bring my wife back to the place we took our honeymoon, so I figured I’d see what a small investment would do for me. I have basically doubled my investment and now am just angry I didnt buy more. Having said that, I think it is nearing it’s high for the foreseeable future. It is hovering around 60k per bitcoin and I think it will be a while until we see Elon Musks prediction of them being a million each! Sorry…rambled there. This is the first time I have been on this weekend so I have a lot of things running through my mind!

I watched their vid an they said to keep the bag even with the bar?? So with textured bags over lap a bit?Brain farts??? I blame our dog for any smell anomalies
