Im using fusion360. I have watched several Youtube videos and have been able to do the basic things. All in not too hard. Figuring out how to navigate the menus and hotkeys was about the hardest part. Setting up the 3d printers the way I have them took a little IT know how, but I am very proficient when it comes to that side of things. All in its pretty fun. I have somehow wound up with 3 printers… So yeah theirs that

Jonathon So a 1kg roll of PLA Filament is about $20. The funnel is estimated at 200grams and the cover at about 143grams. So 343/1000 = .343 * $20 = $6.86 per complete set.

So I purchased the Creality ender 3 base model. I have 3 of them now. The first one I purchased directly from Creality and I paid $165. The last two I bought refurbished from Creality off their website for $148. The differences come down to the control board and longevity/ease to upgrade firmware. I only intended to have 2 printers, but some confusion between myself and a friend led to the 3rd being ordered and I figured the more the merrier.

If your not super comfortable with words like programming and compiling I would probably suggest spending a little more and getting a machine that is easier to maintain such as the Creality Ender-3 V2. That along with a Bltouch ,which you would install to avoid having to manually level the bed, and you have a very stable platform.

Its all very computer based though I wouldn’t say its plug and play yet, but the amount of online resources are almost overwhelming. Take a look at Teaching Tech. That guy goes through almost everything you could possibly want to know in excruciating detail.

Also take a look at Thingiverse. They have a ton of free downloadable models that you can slice in free software and then pop on an SD card and print out.
