I got as far as talking to someone who had one that fit a #22 Manual grinder that they “thought” would work if I ground off some lip, but I wasn’t down with that. So its time to get busy engineering my own.</p>
<p dir="auto">These are the units I was trying to purchase.</p>
<p dir="auto">This is the first one:<br />
<img src="/assets/uploads/files/1600952565093-grinder-attachement-2.png" alt="Grinder attachement 2.PNG" class=" img-fluid img-markdown" /></p>
<p dir="auto">And this is the second one:</p>
<p dir="auto"><img src="/assets/uploads/files/1600952580786-grinder-attachement-1.png" alt="Grinder attachement 1.PNG" class=" img-fluid img-markdown" /></p>
<p dir="auto">Either would accomplish my goal of adding some functionality, but more importantly some safety. Both were from the same supplier, but from different manufacturers and one I was told was actually manufactured by walton’s at one point, but alas no one makes either anymore.</p>
<p dir="auto">So The second option decked out with tray and Pusher was $220 with shipping so I decided that is my new budget. A 3d printer has been on my list for a while and recently the <a href="https://www.creality3d.shop/collections/3d-printer/products/creality-ender-3-3d-printer-economic-ender-diy-kits-with-resume-printing-function-v-slot-prusa-i3-220x220x250mm?gclid=CjwKCAjwh7H7BRBBEiwAPXjadtHaQnNqY56WqXaJaSEimSaXMcOV4tJqNK5Y9-hgBADYJUWmVQtGPBoCUv4QAvD_BwE" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">Ender3</a> has gone on sale for $167. An upgrade for self leveling bed puts the unit with filament and extra nozzles at $220. So here we go. I did order a digital caliper, but I’m not counting that <img src="https://waltonsdev.nodebb.com/assets/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji/emoji/android/1f609.png?v=de2f8910e2d" class="not-responsive emoji emoji-android emoji--wink" style="height:23px;width:auto;vertical-align:middle" title=";)" alt="😉" /> .</p>
<p dir="auto">Here is my initial drawing using measurements with a measuring tape I had in the garage. I used <a href="https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/subscribe?mktvar002=3957209%7CSEM%7C1618310827%7C64140214467%7Ckwd-330308867034&amp;gclsrc=aw.ds&amp;=&amp;ef_id=CjwKCAjwh7H7BRBBEiwAPXjadp7p4GtYreyIxgJawaK_bJlSRT5UyARp9xy1J2O8LGgo3Dhd6NtDABoCYHkQAvD_BwE%3AG%3As&amp;s_kwcid=AL!11172!3!462685731307!e!!g!!fusion%20360!1618310827!64140214467&amp;mkwid=s6G86eZ0j%7Cpcrid%7C462685731307%7Cpkw%7Cfusion%20360%7Cpmt%7Ce%7Cpdv%7Cc%7Cslid%7C%7Cpgrid%7C64140214467%7Cptaid%7Ckwd-330308867034%7Cpid%7C&amp;utm_medium=cpc&amp;utm_source=google&amp;utm_campaign=GGL_DM_Fusion-360_AMER_US_eComm_SEM_BR_NEW_EX_ADSK_3529781_&amp;utm_term=fusion%20360&amp;utm_content=s6G86eZ0j%7Cpcrid%7C462685731307%7Cpkw%7Cfusion%20360%7Cpmt%7Ce%7Cpdv%7Cc%7Cslid%7C%7Cpgrid%7C64140214467%7Cptaid%7Ckwd-330308867034%7C&amp;gclid=CjwKCAjwh7H7BRBBEiwAPXjadp7p4GtYreyIxgJawaK_bJlSRT5UyARp9xy1J2O8LGgo3Dhd6NtDABoCYHkQAvD_BwE&amp;plc=F360&amp;term=1-YEAR&amp;support=ADVANCED&amp;quantity=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">Fusion360</a> which has a free version of the 3d modeling tool by Autocad.</p>
<p dir="auto"><img src="/assets/uploads/files/1600953155246-grinder-attachement.png" alt="Grinder Attachement.PNG" class=" img-fluid img-markdown" /></p>
<p dir="auto">Stay tuned! The printer should be here in a week or so and the Calipers today. My goal is to make something that slips over the current mouth of the grinder and attaches at the same point as the back feet. I would like the whole assembly to be no more than 2 pieces.</p>

<p dir="auto">So I purchased the Creality ender 3 base model. I have 3 of them now. The first one I purchased directly from Creality and I paid $165. The last two I bought refurbished from Creality off their website for $148. The differences come down to the control board and longevity/ease to upgrade firmware. I only intended to have 2 printers, but some confusion between myself and a friend led to the 3rd being ordered and I figured the more the merrier.</p>
<p dir="auto">If your not super comfortable with words like programming and compiling I would probably suggest spending a little more and getting a machine that is easier to maintain such as the <a href="https://www.creality3dofficial.com/products/ender-3-v2-3d-printer" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">Creality Ender-3 V2</a>. That along with a <a href="https://www.creality3dofficial.com/collections/bl-touch/products/creality-bl-touch?variant=31268470161481" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">Bltouch</a> ,which you would install to avoid having to manually level the bed, and you have a very stable platform.</p>
<p dir="auto">Its all very computer based though I wouldn’t say its plug and play yet, but the amount of online resources are almost overwhelming. Take a look at <a href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbgBDBrwsikmtoLqtpc59Bw" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">Teaching Tech</a>. That guy goes through almost everything you could possibly want to know in excruciating detail.</p>
<p dir="auto">Also take a look at <a href="https://www.thingiverse.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">Thingiverse</a>. They have a ton of free downloadable models that you can slice in free software and then pop on an SD card and print out.</p>

The funnel is estimated at 200grams and the cover at about 143grams. So 343/1000 = .343 * $20 = $6.86 per complete set.</p>

Also, what printer brand and model are you using? This is just too cool to not try. The range in cost of the printers are great. What factors should one consider when getting a 3D printer?
