Chef While it might be possible, feasible may be another question. I’d have to buy a half to full container of them. We’d be talking about thousands of units. I will do some more research into it, and what might be possible, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up too high about it. If something did happen, it would take months for us to get something in stock for it.

Chef It is on it’s way to us right now. The container is about 2 weeks late, but based on current progress, I would expect to be in our possession by the 4th week of September. Current date from the freight company says Sept 21. It usually ends up a few days behind that date, but hopefully not more than a couple to a week.

dlmason88 It will have the same functionality of the weston one that we did here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRNudwiAo8A bit of an old video but it will be basically the same but will be a little easier to clean as the bottom of the base snaps out fairly easily. Hoping to have them soon!

Chef I took one of the old westons and tried to cut down some PVC piping to fit into the cavity for a slider sizer but I never got it to anywhere near working good enough. If someone has another suggestion on an insert that might work I’d be happy to try it.

dlmason88 For a slider, I think about 3". It would be much thinner than a standard burger, like about 3/8". Very popular with the younger generation, they think it’s cute (give me a more substantial burger). Given the environment we presently face, as a caterer, lot more outdoor events with simpler menus. In this part of Texas, run of the mill BBQ is just getting old news and people are looking for something different. Just trying to stay ahead of the curve.

Chef I highly recommend poly tubing for bulk patty needs. Stuff, freeze, slice. I haven’t tried full sized patties but breakfast or slider size were easily handled by our Hobart slicer. We normally use the band saw for full sized burger patties.

Joe Hell I’ve tried my slicer, a very old American, but while it serves me well for everything else, doesn’t do the poly bags well. I wish I had a band saw, but that is one piece of equipment I don’t own. I may just machine a slider patty press. Nothing on the market unless you spend about $1000. I just can’t justify that for what I do.

I haven’t had my hands on this unit, but I have been wondering along the same lines as you. A 1/3lb burger is kinda big even for my folks at home. I wish I had a unit to play with. I have a friend who works in CNC and 3d printing. We would definitely be able to machine something out of aluminum or stainless if not 3d print a smaller slider. I know my friend has been playing with injection molding as of late, but making a die would be the hard part of that.

                  Jonathon

When the new units arrive let me know. If you have specifics on the materials I can probably get my friend to go ahead and look at it and start working on ideas. He is wanting to raise all his own meat so getting into things like this will cut down on his processing time. Win Win.

The Colosimo’s meat press that Walton’s did offer has different size dies for the press. Dies for patties and sausage links without using casings. I bought one from Colosimo’s in Utah for about 400.00 and works wonderful. It fits my both my grinder and stuffer with many dies available. I highly recommend the sausage patty die and there’s one to make sliders. You can see their video on Colosimo’s website. .

Nord So, the difference between the Quick Patty Maker is the difference between a Moped and a Ducatti! If the price is not an issue and you can do it absolutely go with Colosimo but for the average home guy the quick patty maker is a better value.

I wasn’t saying anything about the price differences but having catered for over 35 years I know how long it would take to do 600 Hamburg patties with the patty maker. At that many burgers it must be for a party so labor cost should be a factor. I did 25#s of breakfast patties last night in about an hour. Boning pork shoulders, grind, mix, form patties, in freezer and cleanup.
