Jonathon Oh yeah!!! I’m busier than a cat trying to cover up shit on a glass table!!! No rioting out my way we are 30 min south of the city so we’ll roll up the sidewalks and raise the bridge if they head out this way…

Parksider We had a very peaceful protest locally with hundreds of people and only one incident. Some anti-police dummies showed up and the crowd basically told them to leave…by yelling at them. Lol. Law enforcement was on the scene and friendly with everyone. There have been a few people counting to show up each night since but no further incidents.

Joe Hell The flint Michigan Sheriff better be on to bigger and better things after this. His speech to the protestors about how they were just there to make sure that the protestors had a voice was excellent.

I heard an interesting theory that in Flint the people and the cops have good relations because the water crisis forced them to band together. Humans do better when we have a common foe to rally together against, be it another country, a cause or whatever.

Joe Hell Sure wish I could say the same for here. Rochester per capita is one of the most violent cities in the country. It’s sad to see a peaceful protest devolve into violence and property damage. Defacing fire department memorial, literally burning a fire truck to the ground. It’s been crazy here. Luckily it hasn’t made it out to my little village 30 minutes south but the sheriff called and they are putting extra patrols in my area since we are at the northern edge of the county closest to the city.
We are gearing up for one more run of meat and then time to clean up the equipment and push it aside to they can get shop space back to service the lawn equipment.

I’m going to take the 20# and 44# mixers out back and put them down!

Parksider do you have a paddle for your 44 lb that you would be willing to sell?

This weekend was the dawn of a new day, pretty sure the earth stopped rotating for a split second here in ROC yesterday. I used the Hobart A200 mixer for the first time on a test batch. GAME CHANGER!!! I started hand mixing like everyone else and up through every mixer known to man with limited success becuase I like making sticks with cure in them and it turns to cement quickly. So I was able to score this mixer for free and knowing what I know now, I would have dropped $1,000 on one a while ago, even before upgrading the grinder. I’m not sure I’ll be able to keep up stuffing the big batches with this thing running behind me! I know they aren’t cheap but if you do any volume at all this truly is a game changer! #hindsightis20/20

Parksider Was it you who we were looking at craigslist or something a few years ago to see if the price was good on one of these mixers? What size batches have you done at a time so far, what is its max?
