Philly Cheese Steak Brats
-
What is the best meat to use to make the Philly Cheese Steak Brats? Can I get 80/20 ground beef or do I use pork? I really appreciate anyone’s help on this. Thank you!

Macdogpro22 We recently made some with beef and they were excellent. We added cheese whiz to them (not the can stuff) and that worked out well. In general I prefer pork over beef but if there was one specific sausage that I think beef is as good as pork it would be the this one. Sorry, I know that’s not giving you a firm answer but you can’t really go wrong with beef or pork for Philly Brat!

Jonathon you didn’t put the cheese whiz in the sausage, you used it as a condiment correct?

YooperDog Correct, it went ontop of the brat…I’ve got a link to post somewhere here…https://www.facebook.com/281203368616445/posts/2698386457095813 it tasted better than it looked!

I’ve made them with pork and added some red bell pepper and onions that were cooked down in butter. Also added hi temp mozzarella. These came out amazing and everyone I gave some to try wants more. One of my favorites now. Hope that helps a little.

Thank you everyone for your responses and help. I am going to make the brats this weekend using beef and high temp mozzarella.
