@s-a-m When Yuengling became widely available I was sure that was the death of Bud and a few other heavy lagers, same price and infinitely better (in my opinion) but you can show a horse water but you can’t make them drink good beer!

@s-a-m I love me some stouts, porter, etc… I haven’t met a beer or spirit that I would turn down!

Jonathon s request, please list your drink of choice. I’ll start, I love bourbon and Coors Light or a good old Coors yellow belly. My bourbons of choice are Elijah Craig, Bulliet, Maker’s Mark, Jim Beam Black and W.L. Wellers. Now if I just want to pound down some drinks a good 7&7 can’t be beat.

Tex_77 I enjoy Crown on almost any occasion and as many Busch Lights or Bud Selects that I can poor down the hatch. When out and about I like to get into the Stouts at most breweries. I don’t believe that I have met a bourbon that I don’t care for. I will pretty much indulge in anything but Rum.

Departing Contestant I credit Black Butte, Full Sail Amber and Red Hook ESB as the beers that changed my life and started my brewing fascination well over 20 years ago. I haven’t had any of them in a while. Time to revisit!

erich52 Rum can be delicious, but I don’t like spiced rum.

Joe Hell Bend has a lot of good breweries. However, each year Deschutes makes a small batch beer that, if you can get any, is amazing and always very different. there is a taproom, sorta, by the Primal Cuts Market in Bend Oregon that has an amazing selection of beers and if you get to know the bartender there is usually a small keg of limited release beer from Deschutes. you should go to bend and spend A WEEKEND

Living up here we have lots of IPA’s but my preference for beer is and imported beer Rolling Rock in bottles, just wished we could get it in draft. The Other necessity is 16 ounce, 4 finger Gin and Tonic with extra lime in a large mason jar to combat the malaria from mosquitos and prevent scurvy

Back when I drank more often my drink of choice was Crown Black on the rocks but on occasion I’d have a sip of some Crown XO. I spent 9 of my 20 years in the Air Force stationed in England so I’m partial to New Castle Brown Ale, it is best enjoyed sitting on a stool in an English pub and being a draft not bottle.

I am a little disappointed by the lack of comments about IPAs… After all, that is the best category of beer!

However, choosing a favorite is impossible, it has to be a list…

                            1. Moscow Mule (1 Crabby’s Ginger Beer - 3 oz Tito’s Vodka - 3/4 to 1 Lime fresh squeezed - Also must be in a 100% copper mug!)
                            2. Walnut River High Beam IPA
                            3. Odell Myrcenary (Double IPA)

I am pretty non-discriminate on drinks though and I will try/drink absolutely anything.

Austin I’ll have an IPA every now and then but when I was stationed in England I’d drink whatever they had on tap at my local Pub. I did the same thing all over Europe, never really had a bad one. The only time I had a bad one was one of my Commanders home brew.

Austin sorry to disappoint the forum but I do very much enjoy a good single malt scotch and also good bourbon, whisky, or rye but it has to be good no well stuff for me. In the winter one small ice cube to open it up in the summer, club soda. I am a beer snob I like IPAs but since I gave up on my diet I’m back to Porter’s and stouts

Austin I’m just glad to see no one has said scotch is their drink of choice.

I love Scotch, Whiskey, Bourbon, Tequila, Vodka and Gin…I’ll drink Rum so long as it isn’t ‘spiced’ (ruined). My current IPA of choice is Elysian Space Dust.

Tex_77 not really. I do not like the ice cubes that are as big as a pool ball and I’m not a fan of the frozen rocks or frozen bullets. I am not a fan of warm ice it’s too watery
