PK100 and Iowa winters

Jonathon how well do you think the PK100 will do in a unheated garage in the Iowa winters?
Derek_D those units are so well insulated in wont even know its cooking in the winter. Especially if its in your garage out of the wind. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Looks like a beast… I’m jealous.

Derek_D im excited for you

This was my 100SS when it was new -
Derek_D As others have said, the PK100 is very well insulated, so it should work well for you in an unheated garage over the winter. It might take a little longer to get up to temp and you want to minimize the number of times you open the door.

craigrice I don’t have any personal experience but most of what I hear seems to be positive, if you haven’t already, I would snag that!

Derek_D I just ordered mine and it should be here in the next 2 to 3 weeks. Well, actually my wife got it for me for Christmas 🤭
Bgoofy1 It is on my wish list but will have to wait as we are hoping to move in the next couple of years and trying not to buy too many big things that we will have to move, making do with what I have for now.

My PK-100 and Masterbuilt smokers in my garage with venting to stove exhaust hood piped outside.
I modified both units to use the Auber WIFI programmable stepped controller. Auber unit can be programmed to store programs with up to 7 steps. Each step can be set to either time or temperature. Simply pick the program, hit start and it tells you when its finished. All you need to do is add the sawdust and manually control the dampers. -
Derek_D you lucky dog. I’m jealous
