@chef I usually use USPS priority mail if it fits in their box. I find that they do a better job than FedEx and UPS most of the time. You just can’t depend on the 2 or 3 day delivery times , but it’s close.

I’m on my phone now and getting the lost connection constantly. But I’m still able to switch to the different topics and read the posts.

@tex_77 I usually shot 500-1000 rounds a month, this last year I have been restricting myself to 200.How much ammo one “needs” is entirely according to what one is preparing for. And we live in a (relatively) free nation, where each of us is allowed to decide that for themselves. You prove this yourself, saying you have plenty of meat stocked. Who gets to decide how much meat is 'too much"? It isn’t a matter of fairness, when you are free to prioritize anything for yourself!

@yooperdog she did hide them pretty well, I could always find the kid in the shop. He was always taking my tools!

Fields of Fire by James Webb. I was given the book for placing first in my class at vehicle recovery school in the Corps. Not a big reader, so I didn’t do anything with it for a while. Got deployed to Somalia and started reading it on the plane. I couldn’t put it down. Great Vietnam book.

I think about my father and brother, my dad was deployed to Vietnam and my brother who joined while he was in college. I do know this, I wouldn’t be who I am without a strong military influence growing up. So, today I hope everyone appreciates their freedoms, cause plenty of people sacrificed their lives so we can have them!

I saw them (about 10 or so) last year late November or early December, they were easily visible with the naked eye… I thought my eyes were fooling me until I did a little research. If I remember correctly, there will be more added to extend the range.

@grimpuppy I’ve been taking moose out of the bush for 30 years with a one wheeled cart. The first time was with a 72 year old buddy who’d recently had his hip replaced. It was three plus miles with a half mile of muskeg and took two trips. Those were the good old days. Now a days I hunt from the road and have 1500 feet of cable to drag them out. Sure hope I get lucky this fall so I can make salami and garlic sausage.

I use cheaper plastic handled knives for processing animals, don’t want to use my good knives cutting around bone.
