sauterne
I just remember his big old green jug of Chablis where he would put a little in the dish and put a lot in his glass.
Dr_Pain I thought he was mainly drinking the Red Wine rather than the Chablis & cooking with the Sauterne or Chablis if he could not get it. That was a long time ago though & my memory is definitely a little rusty. What has it been, over thirty years ago about the last time we saw him.

calldoctoday You could be 100% on the money so my only saving grace is the fact that if he is truly a Louisiana born and raised man that he will drink about anything that has alcohol LOL!

Dr_Pain Well you know, he was always trying help that ol heart out, that finally gave way, so the Red Wine makes more sense, but often times he would ask for a little sauterne to drink, even though I thought he was mainly cooking with it. He had a lot of au vin dishes that he would womp up.
