Walk in cooler about ready!

I had a stick welder for many years and they work fine for many projects. Since I fabricate a lot of projects with thinner gauge steel and metal tubing, I decided to get a MIG welder a few years ago since they allow poor welders like me to do acceptable welds on thin steel and even sheet metal.
Hobart makes a good light duty one that runs on 120 volt AC. I ended up getting a similar model by Miller that will handle up to 3/8 " thick material but runs off of 220 volts.
With MIG welders you need a bottle of argon for the shield gas. You can also get flux core wire for it to do welding without the gas shield which works fine, but makes rougher looking beads.
I ended up selling the stick welder.processhead I have a couple of machines, a Lincoln MP210 that gives me MIG, TIG, Stick and Spool Gun capability and I have my Miller Bobcat 225 with 12VS suitcase MIG. The Miller also give my a 10Kw generator when the power goes out for extended period. The buzz box just wasn’t suitable for my welding needs.

Lincoln and miller were the ones a friend of mine recommended as he was a welder by trade , he could pass ultrasound , x ray and was certified to weld on nuclear sadly cancer got him ,he could MiG, tig and stick, look at a weld and tell you what rod you used and he always said that a Lincoln or a miller were the best

GWG8541 I was looking at a 20’ shipping container with a coolbot but I don’t have the room currently.
bocephus I had a chance to pick up a shipping container a few years back and passed. Man do I regret that.

GWG8541 You don’t want to try to buy one now, the prices are outrageous. They used to be cheap.

knifemaker3 congrats on the progress
. Let’s see some pictures. -
GWG8541 Wish I had more room, I would love to set up a shop that I didn’t have to pack everything away all the time.

Maybe hard to tell anything from the picture. Made to use hooks only instead of the rolling trolley type hooks. Didn’t have enough height for rolling

The big beam on the roof is the middle brace. You can see the 3/8”x 2 1/2” rails running over to the side of the frame. All welded in place and anchored to the concrete floor. If it’s ever got to be moved out I’ll have to take a torch to it to get it out!

Gotta scrub down the walls of the cooler before first use. Got a little discoloration but wipes right off with water. Will also sanitize before first use as well.
Hope to have it running next week, deer season starts on the 13th, so under the gun !

Hopefully you are moving to an area that does allow, otherwise it’ll have to be incognito

AHAHA! You guys are awesome. The temporary home has a backyard big enough for me to stretch my arms… and the subdivision I will build my new house… is the same subdivision. It is a highly coveted neighborhood and I have a lot (which was an investment)

Ridley Acres We invited the neighbors to a neighborhood open house and posted it on the FB page and I am shocked how many people were sad we were leaving. I don’t associate with any of them, which is the shocking part ROFL!
